Chapter 2

Ashton POV "You were amazing Sean!" I yelled as I jumped into his arms. There was a moment when I thought we may loose but Sean pulled us ahead like he always does. Everyone was hyped and wanted to go celebrate. "You guys go have fun, I'm exhausted. Plus I have an exam tomorrow" I told everyone. "Ashton, you're way too serious" stated Layla. "Yeah come party with us" one of Sean's football buddies yelled. "I'm good, but I was going to talk with Sean about a lake day party on Saturday to celebrate my 18th birthday" The cheering and hollering started immediately. Sean smiled, kissed my cheek and whispered "was that really your idea?" I blushed, he knows me so well "No, but I don't mind. It could be fun" "But...." I lowered my voice even more. "I was thinking, maybe Friday night could be ours, just the two of us." Sean blinked. Unsure of what he just heard. "Are you sure?" He asked thoughtfully. "I'm sure" blushing again Without warning he picked me up, spinning me around and kissed me hard on the lips. "Don't worry about a thing" he started, "I've got this covered. I will plan everything out and make this the most special night of ours lives." I smiled even though something inside still didn't feel quite right. I dismissed it as nerves. "Sean, walk me home?" "Of course babe" Sean said grabbing my cheer duffel and flinging it over his shoulder. "I'll meet you guys at the pizza place" he called over his shoulder to his buddies". The walk to my house was peaceful. We didn't say much, just enjoyed each other's company. When we reached my front door Sean leaned in for a kiss and watched as I stepped inside and closed the door. Not moving until he heard the click of the deadbolt, ensure I was safely inside. Such a gentlemen. The house was dark aside from a small lamp left on in the corner of the room. I always left it on when my dad was away on work, which one a lot. I walked straight to my room, stripped off my cheer uniform, and made my way to the shower. As I waited for the water to warm up my mind wandered in anticipation for tomorrow night. I loved Sean. He was everything a girl could want in a boyfriend and perfect choice for my first time so why did everything feel..... off. I stepped into the hot shower and let out a deep breath I hadn't realized I was holding. I need to just stop thinking and relax. I quickly finished my shower, threw on my favorite baggy sweatshirt and curled up on the couch with a snack and a movie. The next thing I knew I was running through the woods. The full moon high in the sky. It felt like someone or something was chasing me but every time I turned around, nothing was there. I tried to look at my surroundings to guide me but there were nothing but trees for as far as I could see. They blocked most of the sky so I couldn't even use the stars to help guide me. I was completely lost. And that's when I spotted them. A pair of eyes watching me. A beautiful bright blue pair of eyes that occasionally flicked to a golden color. I stood frozen, staring back at the eyes with both curiosity and fright. Suddenly a massive silver wolf stepped out from behind a tree. I glanced back to where the blue eyes watched me but they were gone. My heart started to pound against my chest and I took off running. My eyes flew open and I sat upright in one quick motion while trying to catch my breath. The same dream, the same lost feeling, the same wolf, and the same piercing blue eyes..... I've been having this same dream for as long as I could remember but in the last year it has become more frequent. I glanced at the clock..... "shit...." 7:23am Class starts in 20 minutes. I threw on some clothes, quickly brushed my hair and ran out the door.
