Chapter twenty-one I walked around my new home, like a robot. I wasn’t really there; I was still at Midnight Rose. Only there I had been myself, free from the burdens that I had been dragging behind for years. It was devastating not to see Sebastian, and at the same time to know he was inside me, fixed in my flesh, my blood, and into the most intimate fibres of my being.
