Chapter 2

Kent's POV

I roll over and look at the woman next to me, her name is Kayla Westover. She's a good lay when I need a stress reliever, she has big gray eyes with bleach blonde hair.

"good morning" she says smirking at me noticing I'm awake

" what have I said about staying in my bed after we have s*x?" I say with a slight growl

her face turns to one of slight fear as she looks down saying "not to be in it, alpha"

"exactly so why are you in my bed still? GO!" I say getting up to get ready for class not paying any more attention to her as she gets dressed and practically runs out of the room. Sighing in frustration I get into the shower to get the smell of her off of me.

Let me tell you more about myself, my name is Kent Henley, I'm 18 years old and 6'6. i have jet black hair and slightly tanned skin I get from my dad, I also have freckles and green eyes I get from my mom. I am their eldest son meaning I get to be alpha, my best friend is Andrue Ford and he will be my beta and my other friend Garrett Davis will me my gamma once I'm made alpha of The silver moon pack.

sighing, I get out of the shower and get dressed in a pair of black joggers, black converse and a skin tight white t-shirt

"Kent! Get your butt down here so you can eat" I hear my mom yell from downstairs

"coming mom!" I yell back as I'm opening the door. jogging down the stairs and going into the kitchen following the smell bacon pancakes.

"good morning mom" I say kissing her on the top of her head.

"good morning son, I saw Kayla leave your room again. You need to stop sleeping with her, you should be waiting for your mate"

"mom, I'm almost 19 and haven't found my mate yet"

"that doesn't mean anything son" I heard my dad say startling me "it is possible you will find her and every girl you've slept with will try to make her jealous in various ways. it happened with your mom when I found her."

"dad" I said turning twords him "I don't even know if I really want a mate anyways and it's possible she's already dead or lives in a different pack" I as as i am grabbing pancakes and syrup.

"that doesn't mean you shouldn't wait son" dad responds "but it's your choice. You'll at least need a chosen Luna before you can become alpha"

"yes dad, I know. I will look more for her once I get back from alpha training at the Creek Woods pack. I'll only be gone a year, If I don't find her once I come back I will travel to find a chosen mate. maybe I'll find her then but I doubt it." I say eating my pancakes

"okay son but you should probably hurry and finish eating, school starts soon" mom says "it's the last day before you leave to train so you don't wanna be late"

nodding I finish stuffing my food in my mouth so I can go "I love you guys" I say hugging mom after I put my plate in the sink.

"we love you too, drive safe" dad says.

"will do" I grab my bag off the counter and my keys off the hook as I walk out the door twords my ninja motorcycle. putting on my helmet I pull away from the curb and head twords school.

Clare's POV

My alarm goes off at 5AM, I shower and brush my teeth rushing to get ready so I can cook breakfast for everyone. I quietly head downstairs at around 5:30AM and begin cooking everyone breakfast. Sausage, egg and cheese omelets with peppers and onions for everyone this morning. I look at the clock as I finish mine 5:45AM Enough time to eat mine and get out the door before everyone wakes up. eating fast I finish and wash my plate, I grab my bag and phone dashing out the door to catch the bus. I'm not allowed a car since my parents don't like me, I don't even have my permit because they won't allow it but I do know how to drive because my best friend Jessica is teaching me after school on days we know that I won't get in trouble for being late due to them not being home. she's the only one that knows what's happening at home since she saw my bruises one day in the locker room and I made her promise not to tell anyone.

I sit down in the very front putting in my earbuds to tune out everything around me, the bus is too loud and energetic for the morning and it's even worse in the afternoon. looking out the window I watch the trees fly by, nobody sat next to me as usual. Andrue can be thanked for that. He bullies anyone and everyone who comes near me, I'm lucky jess has stayed by my side through his torment.

Sighing slightly as the school comes into view I get ready to get off the bus. I'm the first one off and hurrying to get in so I'm not spotted by Andrue as I'm going inside but no such luck as he's standing by the door with the alphas son Kent and Garrett. Garrett is another big tormentor of mine but Kent isn't. I'm lucky that Kent's there because they both avoid doing anything too much in front of him so they can keep the positions of beta and gamma. Alpha Kent said to them the one time they tried in front of him that they would lose their positions if they kept it up, that night I got a pretty bad beating from Andrue.

Moving past them trying not to touch any of them in hopes to avoid later conflict I somehow get past without gaining attention from Garrett or Andrue but Kent glanced up at me with a funny face. I looked away fast and took off down the hall twords my locker. I slow down as I get twords it then freeze when I see who is standing in front of it. Kayla and her squad. She and I used to be close friends but Andrue did something to make her hate me so now every chance she gets she tries to pick a fight. slowly I begin to back away and just as I turn around one of her squad mates sees me and she calls out

"Clare, where do you think you're going? not gonna drop your s**t off at your locker today?"

sighing I slowly turn back twords her "nope I realized everything I need is in my bag and the rest is in my locker" I am lying through my teeth but I dont wanna deal with them right now, I have a hard time controlling rose around my tormentors.

"darn, I was hoping to see your reaction to the present in your locker" she says and I freeze at that

"what do you mean?" I saw in a slight growl, the girls all looking slightly fearful quickly compose themselves.

"come see for yourself" thanking the moon goddess I had the feeling to grab out everything important I try to open my locker but it won't open. I hear Kayla giggle some and I turn to her "what did you do?"

"oh I just changed the lock and did a few other things you'll see when you get it open" laughing at that she turns and walks away. I sigh and start walking twords my home room class which I thankfully have with Jessica. As I walk in the classroom door I spot her and quickly sit next to her

"hey Jess" I say looking at her "you look rough, what's wrong?"

"it's nothing Cass, just stress from the end of the year exams coming up." I don't believe her but I nod and pull out my homework to work on it until the teacher is here to tell us announcements for the day. a few minutes later our teacher Mr Bradley walks in.

"good morning class, there are no announcements for this morning aside from a reminder to buy prom tickets as it is coming up soon. that is all so you may go back to what you were doing"

I go back to my homework and barely finish before the bell rings. I rush to get my stuff put in my bag so I can get out the door and to my next class but I bump into Andrue on my way out. uh oh. he turns and looks at me but I notice Kent is right there so I know he won't do anything.. for now.

"watch it" Andrue says with a slight growl

"I'm sorry" I say backing away while looking down in hopes he might leave me be for now

"Leave her alone Andrue, it was an accident" Kent says gaining back Andrue's attention. Now I'm in for it. turning around I ran the opposite direction to go hide in the library.
