Mate of the Abused Red Wolf

Chapter 1

My name is Clare, I'm 15 years old and I've been abused for as long as I can remember. I was adopted by the Beta couple but only because they wanted someone to do everything for them. From cooking and cleaning to being their punching bag when they wanted, they hit me In spots easy enough to cover up so nobody sees. I met my wolf at a young age due to a brutal and nearly deadly beating they gave me.

*flashback*

"CLARE! GET DOWN HERE NOW!" Vincent yelled. This was bad. I ran downstairs to see what I had done "wrong" this time. I say "wrong" because usually it's Vincent's son Andrue setting me up.

"yes sir?" I said as I got down the stairs, not making eye contact in hopes I wouldn't get beaten

"why is this house a pigsty? I told you to have it cleaned before I got home."

I looked up and looked around me, Andrue had made a huge mess everywhere.

"I have been working on it sir, I'm so sorry I didn't manage to get it done fast enough" I whimpered knowing what was coming.

An audible slap was heard and I tried to not cry out knowing it would make things worse.

"this is unacceptable! your punishment will not happen now since the Alpha and a few others are coming over but it will happen when they leave, have everything and I mean EVERYTHING clean before they get here" he starts to turn away and says "oh and you better clean yourself up after you finish, we don't need the alpha knowing what's going on do we?"

"No sir, we don't. I will get everything done and cleaned up before he's here"

"Good now get it done"

two hours later and I'm done cleaning and about to finish cooking when Andrue walks into the kitchen.

"Damn, haven't been punished yet? too bad." he says pushing me against the wall with a low growl.

I let put a whimper and say "no, I'm supposed to get everything ready for the alphas visit tonight. please let me go I need to finish or I'll be punished more"

"why would I do that?" Andrue asks

"because your father told me that he doesn't need the alpha knowing what's going on"

"fine, get back to work slut" he said letting me go I ran back to what I was doing making sure nothing had burnt and let out a relieved sigh when nothing had.

as I began finishing foods I plated them. setting down the last dish of food I realized it was almost time for the Alpha to be here so I quickly ran to my room to grab clothes and shower, taking the world's fastest shower I still had a few minutes, I checked my face and used a tiny bit of makeup to cover the little bit of a mark left from the slap and before he got here I ran back down to double check everything was okay still then suddenly there was a knock on the door and I heard Vincent's mate Katie answer it saying

"Hello alpha, it is so nice to see you today"

"Kate, it's nice to see you too and you know to call me Adam, we're friends." Kate never beat me but she always was verbally and emotionally abusive, telling me how it was my fault my parents died.

I about jumped out of my skin when I felt a hand on my shoulder but relaxed when I saw it was alpha Adam. I bowed my head saying "good afternoon Alpha Adam"

"good afternoon Clare, are you okay? you seemed zoned out there and jumped when I touched your shoulder"

"yes sir, I'm okay just tired"

he didn't looked like he believed me but said "okay" and sat on the couch waiting for his beta. Kate walked up behind me and said quietly "come with me" gulping and nodding I did so knowing what was probably coming. we walked into a spare bedroom and the door closed behind me confirming my fears.

"we saw your interaction with the alpha, he's off limits to talk to you slut" Andrue said then. I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my neck. Wolfsbane. it can weaken ones wolf to the point they loose it if they are administered enough before shifting. I have been given so much I'm surprised I even still have a wolf but it could be due to it not being given often.

I fall to my knees in pain as I feel it making its way through my body, trying not to cry out despite the pain and the walls being sound proofed. Vincent, Kate and Andrue all appear in front of me.

"I didn't want to have to do this until he left but you broke the rules" Vincent. says as he kicks me in the stomach. then Andrue punches me in the face. they keep going until I feel myself blacking out from the pain and even until I've already passed out.

Not long after I passed out they left the room, Vincent and Andrue go to get cleaned up while Kate goes to talk to the alpha.

"I apologize Adam for the wait, Clare suddenly didn't feel good so we went to go tell her goodnight"

"that is quite alright Kate, are Vincent and Andrue on their way down?"

"they will be down in a moment they just needed to discuss some matters over Andrue following in his father's footsteps to become beta."

Vincent and Andrue came down not long after their chat finished and they all sat down for dinner.

Meanwhile, Clare was upstairs still passed put on the floor when she began to dream of somewhere absolutely beautiful, there was a waterfall along with colorful flowers everywhere.

"Clare" she jumped hearing her name turning twords where it came from

"moon goddess" she said bowing her head some "it's nice to meet you but might I ask why I'm here? am I dead?"

"No my child you are in a deep sleep so you can heal. I am so sorry you ended up with those people as your adopted parents. it wasn't originally what was planned for you and your future but your parents died in a rogue attack when you were only a few months old and you had no more family as your entire pack was wiped put which is how you ended up in your current pack"

Clare stared for a minute at the moon goddess then responded "who were my parents? what pack was I originally from? the betas refuse to tell me anything about my past other than its my fault they're dead"

"my sweet child, it is not your fault. I cannot tell you who you are because in due time you will find out but I can tell you that you were from the Red Moon pack"

"the Red moon pack? but that's across the states, how did I end up here then?"

"in due time will you find out. you need to wake up soon but I have a gift for you" the loon goddess looked to her right as a beautiful red wolf stepped out from behind her "this is your wolf, Rose, she will be with you from now on to heal you faster and so you won't feel quite so alone beautiful girl."

"moon goddess-"

"Call me Selene"

"Selene. thank you, you have given me hope that I have a future again"

"you are welcome Clare. you are destined for great things but there will also be great dangers that lie ahead of you. worse than your adoptive family. now my child, wake up and go clean yourself but don't tell anyone about your wolf."

"I won't, thank you" Clare said but woke before she could say anything else.

"rose?" Clare thought

"I'm here Clare, let's go get cleaned up and get some rest. I'm here for you now"

*end of flashback*

That's what brought us here today, two and a half years later. everyone thinks I just met my wolf since I only recently turned 16.

Since that day Rose has been a guarded secret of mine and will continue to be until we finally shift at 18 and get out of here, I don't know where I'll go but once I run I become rogue but hopefully I'll find a pack I can finally call my home or I will find my mate that night so I can get away from my adoptive parents. until them in gonna continue to keep my head down.
