Unknown POV
"Sir, they got the letter."
"Good. did you get spotted?"
"no sir, I was in and out before anyone noticed me there."
"Good, good. Soon the kingdom will have it's queen and I will have my beloved"
"everyone is excited sir, they can't wait"
Kent's POV
Leaving my father's office I knock on Clare's door " Clare?" when I don't get a response I open the door quietly and see her laying on the bed fast asleep so I grab a pen and paper off the desk
"Clare, I'm going down to the training field for a few hours my father wishes to speak with you when you wake, come find me after"
I set the note on the nightstand where she would see it and quietly walk out of the room closing the door behind me.
"Who is in there" I hear the annoying high pitched voice of Beth
"none of your business Beth" I sigh turning around to face her
" but why do they get to sleep up here but I can't" she whines " I'm the one that supposed to be the future Luna after all"
"this is the last time I tell you this Beth, you are NOT becoming the future Luna. if you keep bugging me about this you will be on cleaning duties for a week. got it?"
" but-"
"No Beth no buts. go downstairs and stay off the alpha floor unless you need to talk to my father."
nearly in tears she turns and begins to walk away telling me "your father will hear about this"
"I already heard all of it" we hear my father's voice behind me making her jump "I do believe this matter had been discussed before Beth?"
"yes sir" she barely manages to get out
"then it's settled. leave my son be, he has better things to do than deal with someone trying to take the spot of his mate" father sighs "son, next time she bothers you just link me and I'll deal with her"
"yes father, I will" I nod
"Beth, you have doubled your training for the next week. no ifs ands or buts."
"yes sir"
"now go, first day it's doubled is tomorrow you might wanna rest up"
"yes alpha" she says running away like a bat out of hell
"Thanks dad, I appreciate it."
"you're welcome son, now go before Clare wakes up" he begins walking back twords his office
I nod and head downstairs to grab an apple and eat it on my way to the training field saying hello to a few pack members on the way
"Alpha Kent?" I hear someone behind me. turning I see Jess.
"Asking about Clare?"
"yes alpha, I just wanted to know how she's doing"
"she's doing good she's resting right now so maybe later when she's up for it you can go see her"
"okay Alpha, thank you so much"
"you're welcome" I smile a bit at her and walk the rest of the way to the training field while linking my dad "Jess just approached me about Clare, seemed genuine about her concern but I was being cautious about what I told her, just said she was resting right now and if Clare wanted they could see each other later"
"Thank you for informing me son, I have posted a guard outside her room and on her balcony. Both female. can't ever be too cautious" he links me back
"when I'm back I can relieve the guards, she would probably prefer me around to them"
" okay son, get to training"
" yes alpha" I link back jokingly and cut off the link before he can reply
walking inside I go to the locker room to change, put in my earbuds and begin working out to blow off some steam
Beths POV
after I'm dismissed by the Alpha I go into my room to prevent any further embarrassment on my part. I shouldn't have to do that, I'm the future Luna for goddesses sake! pulling out my journal I begin to write:
That stupid b***h, it should be me upstairs by the alphas room. better yet I should be in it every night pleasuring him in every way I can, giving him pups.
So what she was beaten by her family? she was ugly and deserved it. Soon I will be his and soon she will be gone forever and he will forget about her completely. We were doing so well together I don't understand why he broke up with me. I know he's been sleeping with Kayla but she has been taken care of. "Waiting for my mate" my ass, he will see. they will all see. I'm the only one for Kent and he's the only one for me. Forever.
The Vampire king was very interested in her when I told him her story and gave him a picture of her. He said soon. Sadly she won't be dead because he wants her as his concubine but at least I will have a higher status and power then her.
hearing a knock on the balcony door I put the notebook under my mattress and open the door, seeing a vampire standing there I let him on but he has other plans. I try to scream out as he muffles the sound with a rag and injects me with wolfsbane causing me to promptly pass out from pain.
A/N I apologize for being gone for so long I have been consistently sick over the last month or so as well as trying to help my mom get prepped around her house for her upcoming surgery.
