It was dawn, and Lady Tito struggled to get off her bed as she walked through the door of her room she dragged her feet wondering if the village chief was alone or he had other elders waiting for her at the palace. As she thought to herself she called for Hameho “How are you? Did you sleep well? Do you feel strange? Did you……. “ As lady Tito was about to add to the questions she realized Hameho wasn’t coming from her room rather she slept in Uhuru’s room. She got scared with a sharp look she asked “Why are you coming out of Uhuru’s room? What did you do to her?” Hameho wore disappointed look that her mother could not trust her with her sister “You don’t even trust me with my own sister. What are you afraid of? Uhuru is still asleep, do you want to talk to me?” Lady Tito hesitated at first but decided to speak “You were never supposed to bloom Hameho, this is beyond your understanding. It is older than this village. We have hidden this part of history from the people, we did a lot of covering to keep it sealed. The conversations woke Uhuru up as she walked to where the voices were coming from she greeted her mother “Good morning mom” “Good morning my child, I will be heading to the chief palace immediately when I come back we will continue with this discussion. Uhuru looking surprised “Mom, did you end the conversation because I came in?” “But mom we are not done” Hameho added “Hameho as far as I am concerned we are done for now” As Lady Tito was heading to the chief palace she was fighting the urge to tell Hameho her real identity and also the urge to tell the village chief what the red moon circled with bright stars could possibly mean. As she was getting closer to the palace a voice in her head became louder TELL HER!!! SHE NEEDS TO KNOW!!! SHE NEEDS TO PRACTICE!!! SHE NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO CONTROL IT!!! “But she’s not eighteen yet I feel this is happening too fast, why does she even need to practice when everything is supposed to happen from the exact day she clocks eighteen?” Passersby looked at Lady Tito as a lady going mad because everything she thought was happening in her mind came out of her mouth very loud. As soon as she caught her lips moving she lifted her head up, to realized everyone’s eyes were all fixed on her “What are you looking at? You Better keep to your business before you regret it” lady Tito said harshly “Strange things are beginning to happen these days” said the village gossip Everyone knows Shimta as the local gossip. “Last night a very strong wind blew. I could see blue light flowing with the wind. I held onto my stool till it passed my house as I stretched my neck to look through the window, a strong force banged it close. I became scared to open it back. “You keep making up stories in your head Shimta first you told me you saw the medicine woman’s daughter who went missing years ago standing in the same forest she was said to have gone to and never returned” Arhat is shimta’s best friend “Arhat you are my only friend and I promise I saw everything I have told you” “Shimta let's head home. I'm tired!!! Sometimes I want to believe you.” “So what’s stopping you from believing me” “Are you going to keep asking questions or catch up with me? I’m going home Shimta Lady Tito arrived the Palace a little late, the chief was already looking impatient “My lord I am sorry I came in a little late I needed to watch Hameho for sometime before leaving the house” “How is she today?” “She’s fine and getting better” “ What does the red moon signify? And the stars? “My lord i haven’t been able to figure that out yet” “Why?” “My lord give me some time to see Vhem the medicine woman, she’s wise and may have answers for us” “I will not take answers from Vhem!! A woman who could not help her own daughter cannot help the village. Tito don’t waste my time get me answers” “Yes my lord” As lady Tito left the palace she moved fast nearly pushing Akate the drunk to the ground “Woman come here I am calling you” “Akate you really want to die” “I’m not scared of death what is coming is bigger than death if you keep her tamed she won’t save us” “Akata you really need to cut down on your drinking habit you make no sense right now” “Even you her mother don’t know what’s brewing under your nose” “Akata stop it right now” As lady Tito spoke a red fire flicker in her eyes “LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER BUT A STRONGER DAUGHTER. Akate said staggering away “nobody will ever take you serious Akate!!!” Lady Tito walked faster almost running to Vhem’s chambers, before she even got to the door Vhem already knew she was coming. “Come in, Tito , I have been expecting you,” Vhem said. Then she continued….. ‘It’s happening again, after you tried hard to suppress it, It is so powerful that the elders had to decree that any child born carrying the mark will be cast out to protect the village but she’s our destiny. Hameho was born carrying that mark hidden in her veins the universe knew she is a promise that needs to end something strong. I have searched for answers but the more I search, the deeper it takes me. Tito, where is Hameho? “My Lady she’s home” “She needs to come to my chambers” “I doubt she would want to” “You need to bring her yourself Tito” “Ok my lady, but What about the village chief? He needs answers from me concerning……… “Tito when the time comes you will have answers for him but first get me Hameho”. Lady Tito left Vhem chambers thinking of what to say to Hameho and how to bring her to Vhem when she saw the village gossip Shimta “Good day Madam Tito” “Call me lady Tito you snitch” “What are you doing here?” “Nothing I was just going to see my friend” Good for you since. you have never had anything useful to do. Go ahead Shimta….., go on…… go gossip as usual no one really takes you serious. “No Lady Tito I saw or heard nothing” “I don’t care what you heard or saw” As Shimta moved farther she turned back to look at lady Tito and whispered WHO STILL TAKES VHEM SERIOUSLY? MUST BE BOLD TO THINK NO ONE WOULD TAKE ME SERIOUS IF YOU CAN TAKE VHEM SERIOUS, PEOPLE WILL TAKE ME SERIOUS. Lady Tito got home and found Hameho laying down “Welcome back mom,” Hameho said “You look better, where is Uhuru? “She’s at the back yard” “What is she doing there?” “I don’t know” “Come and sit down with me Hameho”. With a straight face Hameho was stunned she never asks me to sit with her, does she have answers now? Why the sudden calmness? All this thought ran through Hameho’s mind “I’m coming mom” Hameho took a tool with her “No Hameho the bench is wide enough for two people you can drop the stool” Uhuru heard her mother’s voice “Mom you are back, Hameho you didn’t tell me mom is back” “She just came back Uhuru” Hameho sat close to her mom with her face down “My child, look at my face, stretching her hand to lift Hameho’s head. I am ready to tell you everything you need to know, who we are and how the Village began. Uhuru dragged her stool closer. “So you want to tell her who she is and where she’s from?” “She’s my Child and a true blood of Arbetha before the village of Armeth was formed. We were not ordinary people; we all lived in Arbetha with your father and brother. “Where is Arbetha Mom? We have a brother? Uhuru asked anxiously “Calm down Uhuru and let her finish i am anxious to hear the whole truth” “Listen my children, Arbetha was a place of hope, Power and Royalty. We had a King who was a warlord and a prince who detected the future. People came from far and near to see what their future held and sometimes change their fate. The king told his Son never to take gifts after telling the fate or future of anyone. As the kingdom grew bigger and stronger so did pride and arrogance get in the way of the prince's heart. He started talking about how the crown would look on his head, secretly going into the room of the king to wear his crown and clothes standing in the mirror and telling himself he cannot wait to be the next king of Arbetha. There was a maid who saw this, she knew it was forbidden to put on the kings crown she asked him to take the crown off and if he continues to sneak into the king’s chambers she would tell the king. But this warning from the palace maid only made him angry. Later that evening the king called the maid and asked for his sacred staff and where she had hidden it, she cried to the king saying she had never touch anything belonging to the king as her job in the palace was to clean and Carter for the royal family “But Adoria saw you leaving my room acting suspiciously with something covered in a silver linen. He also saw you heading to the city gate. Who did you give my sacred Staff to?” The maid bowed her head and pleaded with the king that she never took anything from his room and added that Adoria was telling lies The king asked Adoria to display the future so he could see where the staff had gotten to. But Adoria manipulated the vision and had the maid killed Months had passed, the king had his staff back and the prince acted like he didn’t cause the death of an innocent maid. As years goes by the kingdom and king got weaker.
