I was home for Christmas. I was hanging out with some friends when one said, "I hear your girl crush won an award."
I knew about the one in college but she explained this was a national broadcasting award. I looked it up on my phone. It was a big honor. I was excited for her. Coincidently, a little later, I
ran into Vanessa downtown. She was also home to see her mom for Christmas. She invited me for coffee. We made small talk and caught up for a while, then I mentioned the award, and how I'd just heard about it.
