Present :- (Dehradoon, 8 o'clock in the morning) Manvi gently wakes up Manmeet, who is still fast asleep. Today is Manmeet's first day of college. Manvi: (looking at her) Manmeet, wake up! It's already 8 o'clock. You don't want to be late on your first day of college. Manmeet: (half asleep) Mamma, just 10 more minutes, please... (covers her face with the blanket) Manvi: (removing the blanket) No, not at all! Get up now. You can't afford to be late on your first day. Manmeet: (getting up) Mamma, why did you take away my blanket? I just asked for 10 more minutes... Manvi: (smiling) Come on, get ready quickly. We'll have breakfast together. I've made your favorite pasta. Manmeet: (excitedly) Pasta! Wow, Mamma, thank you so much! You know how much I love pasta! Manvi: (hugging her) I made it especially for you because it's your first day of college. I want your day to start on a positive note. Now, go get ready quickly. Manmeet heads to get ready, and after a while, she returns, dressed and ready for college. Manvi and Manmeet share a warm breakfast together, and then they head out, Manmeet to college and Manvi to school. ________________________________________ Ojasav and his family, including his uncle, aunt, and Kanak, are having breakfast at the dining table. Kanak is eating hastily, and Ojasav notices. Ojasav: (looking at Kanak) Kanu, why are you eating so quickly? Take your time... (Kanak looks up, mouth full, and swallows quickly before responding.) Kanak: Oju bhaiya, if I eat slowly, I'll be late for physics class, and that strict ( khadoosh) teacher will scold me. Ojasav: (smirking) Strict ( khadoosh) physics teacher? Ha! Kanak: (looking at him) Yes, bhaiya, she's so strict that if you're even a minute late, she won't let you attend the class, and you'll have to stand outside the whole lecture. Ojasav: (playfully teasing) So, you're always late for physics lectures, huh? Since being late is your habit... Kanak: (pretending to be angry) Oju bhaiya, just because I'm usually late doesn't mean I'll be late today! If you don't stop teasing me, I definitely will be late! Ojasav: (smiling) Don't worry, Kanu. I'll drop you off at college on time. You won't be late, I promise. (Kanak's expression softens, and she smiles.) Kanak: (smiling) Thanks, bhaiya. Now that you've promised, I know I won't be late. I can eat slowly. (Ojasav nods.) Meera: (looking at Kanak) Kanak, why don't you wake up a bit earlier so you don't have to rush? Kanak: (looking at Meera) Mom, what can I do? My alarm clock never listens to me. I tell it to wake me up early, but it always makes me late! Ojasav: (laughing) Maybe you should introduce your alarm clock to your physics teacher, Kanu. Then it'll learn to wake you up on time! Kanak: (looking at Ojasav) Yeah, that's what I'll do, bhaiya! Mahendra: (looking at Ojasav) Ojasav, stop teasing Kanak and drop her off at college. Then, reach the office quickly. We have an important meeting with a client at 10 am. Don't be late. Ojasav: (looking at him) Don't worry, tauji. I'll be there on time ... ( Mahendra nods ) 🎡🎡🎡🎡🎡🎡🎡🎡🎡🎡🎡🎡🎡🎡🎡 (After sometime) Manmeet is riding her cycle to college when the chain breaks, and she stops to fix it. A car pulls up behind her and honks repeatedly, but she doesn't budge, focused on repairing her cycle. Just then, a young man steps out of the car and off course guys it's Ojasav!... Ojasav: (looking at Manmeet, annoyed) Excuse me, ma'am. How long have I been honking? Didn't you hear me? Manmeet slowly looks up at the sound of his voice and sees a tall, handsome young man standing before her, his face slightly scowling. Ojasav's gaze also falls on Manmeet, taking in her disheveled hair, pink lips, black eyes, and cute, innocent face, frozen in surprise. Both of them get lost in each other's eyes for a moment, time standing still. Then , Kanak gets out of the car and calls out. Kanak: (moving towards Ojasav) Oju bhaiya! Kanak's voice breaks the mesmerized silence between Ojasav and Manmeet. Ojasav blinks slowly and turns towards Kanak and Manmeet, who stands up and looks directly at both of them. Manmeet: (attitudinally) Excuse me, sir. You were honking loudly, but perhaps you didn't notice my cycle chain broke, and I've been busy fixing it. (Ojasav's eyes widen slightly, surprised by her fearless attitude) Ojasav: (irritatedly) Then move aside and fix your cycle. Why are you doing it in the middle of the road? Manmeet: (looking at him) Why should I ask you where to fix my cycle? It's my cycle, my choice. Who are you to tell me? (Ojasav's eyes widen even further, and his irritated expression is replaced by shock) Ojasav: (shockingly) Besides lacking common sense, blocking the road with your cycle will cause a traffic jam. I'm giving you advice, and you're giving me attitude. What kind of person are you, ma'am? (Manmeet's eyes flash with annoyance again) Manmeet: (angrily) First, how did you decide I lack common sense? Have we met before? And secondly, who asked for your advice? Ojasav: (smirking) One glance is enough to know someone. That's why I figured you lack common sense. And I thought, why not offer some advice since you clearly need help? bcz you have no brain na... (Manmeet's face turns beet red with anger) Manmeet: (pointing finger) How dare you? Speak so freely about me! Ojasav: (raising an eyebrow) Why should I fear speaking about you? You're not the President of India. Manmeet: (furiously) See here, Mr.... Neither do I know you nor you know me, so stop making absurd comments about me. Otherwise, if I start, you'll fall flat right here. (Kanak interrupted just as Ojasav was about to speak further) Kanak: ( looking at ojasav)Oh bhaiya, please calm down, we're getting late... please let's go quickly. Ojasav: (looking at Kanak) Kanu, first ask her to move her cycle aside, then we'll leave. Kanak: (looking at Manmeet) Excuse me, please move aside, we're getting late for college. My physics teacher is very strict, and if we're even a minute late, she won't let us attend the lecture. We only have 10 minutes left before the lecture starts... please. Manmeet: (looking at Kanak) I'm also getting late for college, and today's my first day. This cycle is causing trouble... and I'll be late on my very first day. Kanak: Oh really, you're also going to college, and it's your first day? By the way, which college did you get admission into? Manmeet: (looking at her) Kiran Vedi National College, Dehradoon. I'm a 3rd-year BSc student. Kanak: (surprised) Wow, what a coincidence! I'm also in the same college, same branch, and same year... that means we're classmates... no, not just classmates, friend! (extends her hand for a handshake) (Manmeet looks at Ojasav first, then at Kanak.) Manmeet: (looking at Kanak) No... we just met, and we don't know anything about each other. So, how can we be friends? (Kanak notices Manmeet's gaze and her hesitation due to Ojasav.) Ojasav: (looking at Kanak) Kanu, do you just make friends with anyone? Anyone walking on the road becomes friends? Not everyone deserves our friendship, even if they're classmates... and I suggest you stay away from people like her. (looking at Manmeet) Manmeet: (angrily) Excuse me, since when have you been speaking about me like that? My silence doesn't mean you can say whatever you want. Kanak: (smirking and looking at both) Please, you both, don't start again... and you (looking at Manmeet), what's your name? I haven't even asked yet. I'm Kanak, and you? Manmeet: (looking at Kanak) I'm Manmeet Panday. Kanak: (smirking) Oh wow, nice name Manmeet! You just said we don't know each other, so how can we be friends? But I know that to be friends, we don't necessarily need to know each other. Friends can be made anytime... so now we are friends, right? Manmeet: (smiling) Okay, we are friends... (Then both shake hands...) Ojasav: (looking at Kanak) You're not going to change, Kanu - making friends with different types of people!. (Manmeet looks at Ojasav angrily, then Kanak intervenes) Kanak: (holding Manmeet's hand) Manmeet, leave the cycle and come with us to college quickly, or we'll both face punishment from that strict physics teacher... Manmeet: (stopping) No way, I won't leave my cycle like that. It's special to me. I'll only go to college after fixing it. Kanak: (looking at Manmeet) No worries, come with me in the car. Oju bhaiya can fix the cycle nicely and bring it to college. He can just park aside and fix it. Ojasav: (shocked) Kanu, what are you saying? Me fixing her cycle and bringing it to college? (looking at Manmeet) You forgot I'm Ojasav Deshmukh, MD of Deshmukh Enterprises , People will see me doing this work; what about my reputation? Kanak: (looking at Ojasav) Bhai , please do this for me, your sister... Besides, college is just 1 km away; nobody will see you . How can cycling affect anyone's reputation? When did you start talking like Mom and Dad? Ojasav: (looking at Kanak) For you, sister, I'd even give my life. But not for this (looking at Manmeet) girl. (looking at Kanak) Why are you so concerned? You're not the one getting late for college. Ojasav: (to Manmeet) And yes, please move your cycle aside. Kanak: (holding his hands) Bhai, please forget your fight with Manmeet for a moment and look at her from my friend's perspective help me out, please. Manmeet: (looking at Kanak) Kanak, I don't need his help anyway, so no need to request anyone on my behalf... it doesn't matter if I miss today's physics lecture. Kanak: (looking at Manmeet) Manmeet, I'm asking my brother directly, and he never says no to me... right, bhai? (Ojasav looks at Kanak, then at Manmeet) Ojasav: (irritated, rubbing his head) Kanu... but what about my car? Kanak: (looking at him) Don't worry, I'll give Jitu uncle (the peon) the car keys. You come to college, park the cycle, and collect the keys from him. He knows you well, bhai. Ojasav: (sadly) Kanak, now I'm forced to ride a cycle instead of my car... a car owner reduced to riding a cycle... and that too, a girl's cycle. No way! Kanak :- ( looking at ojasav ) pls ..pls bhai !.. Manmeet: (looking at Ojasav) Why do you think riding a cycle is beneath you? Have you forgotten that Mahatma Gandhi, our Father of the Nation, used to commute daily by cycling? And cycles don't cause pollution either. Kanak: (looking at Ojasav) Yes, bhai, Manmeet is obviously right... Ojasav: (looking at Kanak) I don't understand, Kanu. You're my sister... or hers (looking at Manmeet). You don't need to lecture me. Just go to college with Kanak, and I'll fix your cycle or have it fixed and delivered safely to college... (irritated) because if you stay in my sight any longer, I don't know what I'll do. (Before Manmeet responds, Kanak grabs her hand and leads her towards the car. Ojasav takes the cycle aside.) Kanak: (loudly, looking at Ojasav) Thank you so much, bhai and love you .. Ojasav: (looking at Kanak) Drive carefully, Kanu . (Kanak nods. Then both sit in the car, Kanak drives, and they reach college.) ________******************______________
