Savannah was vigilant since Steven sat behind her. She was prepared to...
Run Away the second his hand moved towards anything watery. She didn't believe him even a bit. The last two lectures were spent in complete t*****e and her all senses were at high alert.
Anna had also messaged her father to not come to pick her up because she was planning to go to the cafe. And she regretted it now. Regretted it so much.
She just wanted the classes to end and run back home.
It's been nearly two weeks and she still hasn't returned his shirt to him. And at some point, she knew she was wrong but still he shouldn't throw water on her every day.
He even threw water on me when I was injured.
Savannah pouted.
She had already packed all her things and even strapped the bag on her shoulder, there was only a single book and a pencil in her hand. So that just as this last lecture would end she would run away without wasting even a second.
Steven smiled and shook his head at her antics. She was behaving as if he would bite off her meat.
Tringgggg......
And
Whoosshhhh...
A brown gust of wind sped away.
The teacher hasn't even put down the marker when Savannah ran away in lighting speed out of the class.
Thud...
the door closed behind her and that's when the teacher came out of his shock. He only shook his head at the students.
Savannah hurriedly ran down the stairs. Some girls have already seen her run and now they were behind her. To catch her.
She knew what was coming for her is she stayed even a minute longer in school. So she ran. That was the best choice.
Savannah huffed and puffed as she ran out of the school. Thankfully her speed was much greater as compared to the spoilt girls who haven't even seen the door of gym.
As if you go to the gym daily.
Savannah rolled her eyes and ran towards the cafe. The girls coming after her were very behind her and have lost her as Savannah took the long way to the cafe and there were many turns and alleys that came in the way. So she easily left them behind.
But she still didn't dared to let her guard down.
....
Kai looked at the girl's back. She was a master in running away. This was probably her second or was it the third day sitting next to him and she also ran away the previous two times.
He also looked when Steven threw water on her from the second floor. She was injured. But it was none of his concern nor was it now. He didn't understand why he even looked at her in the first place.
Their very first meeting was like a black stain in his memory. Her f******* shoe landed on his head. And he was sure that she was beaten in this school by bullys and still it wasn't his concern.
But he couldn't control himself. She just came to his mind what can he do about it.
Do you like her?
"Do you like her?"
His subconscious and Steven asked at the same time.
And he made a disgusting face at both of them.
He would never ever like that girl. She was no one and will never be anything for him. That's a promise. He made to himself.
Not knowing he will be breaking the promise very soon.
Kai simply ignored him and stood up taking the empty bag that Adrian threw at him in the morning saying.
"You should respect being a student. What is a student without a bag?"
He did brought his school bag with him without Adrian's nagging. But he forgot it today in the apartment giving Adrian a chance to nag again.
He sometimes thinks that his name should be Adrianna. His nagging made him look like an old woman. He didn't even bother putting some books in it, not that he would open them in the class but still.
Kai walked away.
"I would enjoy playing with her. Since you are her friend and desk mate"
Steven smirked looking at his back.
Kai stopped in his tracks. And turned around.
His face was without any emotions. Totally blank.
He smirked.
"As you wish." He spat and turned to go away.
Steven looked at him going away. He won't play with her because of Kai but for himself. He wanted to spite him and see if he was really friends with her or not because looking at them in the break gave him the look of them being friends. And he didn't wanted them to be friends.
He just didn't wanted them to be friends. Especially with him.
Kai stopped at the door.
"I would enjoy the show." He said without turning back and walked away.
Steven was happy.
...........
Savannah went to the cafe cleaned her face off of the makeup and just wore the apron. As she had already changed clothes in school.
The line on her forehead became more prominent as she removed her makeup. Anna looked at the wound in the mirror and couldn't help tracing the wound through her eyes.
Her eyes filled with rage everytime she looked at her wound. She was still using her right hand with caution and writing the notes caused her wrist to hurt again.
Savannah wrapped a stroller around her swollen wrist tightly so that it won't move much.
Her right hand was hurting and it was very difficult to work with only left hand.
She difficulty spent the week with the plaster.
Savannah only took the job of delivering food to the tables. She can do that with her left hand only. She didn't take any orders today so that she will be able to rest her right hand.
......
Savannah reached her home tired at 7pm on her scooty. Thankfully Cathy has covered it with a plastic so it wasn't very dusty.
She also drived slowly with her left hand only.
Her right hand pained.
Anna fell on her bed tired after changing into lose comfy clothes.
Her comfy clothes looked no better than rags. She didn't liked to change her old things because she forms a bond with them. That's why her wardrobe unlike other girls was filled with comfy rags and old clothes except for the ones that were really necessary all the other clothes were old.
Even her school pouch was the one she was using from fifth grade. Old and worn out.
Savannah decided to make mac and cheese for her self and her dad.
She gobbled down the food filling her tummy and revising her lectures she slept
.......
Mr. Hudson came home by 10 pm.
First, he went to Savannah's room finding her sleeping on her bed. He sighed in content.
she was home today by time.
He freshened up and wore his night suit and went to the kitchen for a late dinner.
He opened the fridge finding a covered plate of mac and cheese with a note.
'I was home by 7 don't worry. Try my HAND MADE mac n cheese.'
Mr. Hudson smiled and heated the plate in the oven and made himself a coffee and placing them on a tray he took them to his room. He switched off the lights of the kitchen and lounge.
He just had to do a little more work.
......
It was 1 pm when he came down for some water. The kitchen lights were on. He remembered switching all the lights off when he went upstairs. The lights were switched off of the lounge but the kitchen light was on.
The first thought that came in his mind was.
Did someone break in.?
He silently went to the drawer below the Tv and took out the g*n he hid there for safety purposes. Savannah knew about it.
He then with soft silent steps entered the kitchen.
There was no one in the kitchen.
The door leading to the laundry area was open and the light was also on there.
He walked there and peeked in through the half open door.
His eyes landed on the figure sitting on the ground. It was moving and saying some gibberish in a hoarse voice. It had long hair that reached to it's waist.
It's a girl.
He guessed
Is it a ghost.
Mr. Hudson silently neared the figure. And it was doing something in the front with her hands.
"Who are you?"
"Agghhhhhhhh....."
Just as he asked in his cold hard voice, the girl was startled and shouted loudly.
She who was sitting on her feet fell down as she shouted.
It's a Human.
After shouting when she heard no commotion from behind she turned around only to find her father pointing the novel of the g*n on her head.
Not someone less than a ghost either.
Mr.Hudson thought looking at the face of his ghostly daughter.
"Papa I'm your daughter."
Savannah said sniffing. her eyes shining with unshed tears.
Mr Hudson backed away the g*n and gave a pointed look to his dumb daughter.
Oh God, Please give her a little just a little bit of ability to use her mind and intelligence.
He prayer.
"My dear Ghostly daughter what are you doing....(he looked at the wall clock in the kitchen)...at 1 am in the night."
He asked a little angrily and looked at her hands which were filled with white bubbles from the detergent. A tub filled with detergent and water with a white shirt soaked in it.
Mr.Hudson raised his eyebrows asking what in the world she is doing this late in the night.
Savannah pursed her lips like she always does before crying out.
And she did that.
She wailed out her story in the middle of the night sitting on the ground with detergent soaked hands.
Big drops of tears rolled down her rosy cheeks from crying.
Hudson's heart pained looking at his only daughter whom he spoiled and loved so much to cry like this.
He hugged her crying form and shushed her like a baby.
Savannah was really hurt and sad being humiliated like that. Although she was strong and not hurt easily but when she woke up from her sleep having a nightmare of getting wet again she was really sad.
It wasn't a thing to cry about near her. But because she had to gather her lazy a*s and wash the bastard's shirt in the middle of the night her heart hurts.
Her sleep was disturbed. It was a great grievance to wake up from the bed only to wash his shirt.
Mr.Hudson sighed at the dramatic self of his daughter. Her main focus and grievance wasn't on the fact on being bullied or humiliated but on the thing that she woke up in the middle of the night and washed his shirt.
He knew her so well.
Savannah's all grievance and hurt washed away just as her fathers love filled hands caressed her head.
He always took away all her hurt and grievance with a single hug and a love filled pat on her head.
That's the magic of parents. A single pat on the head and a hug full of appreciation and love can and would take away all the problems of children. That's how it always been and will be.
Parents are the anchors for their children and the solace and the safest place on earth for them.
And the children are the whole life's work of the parents. They earn for them and help them and teach them the morals of the world. And it's the children duty to make their parents proud. That they raised them well. And be the support for their parents when they grow old.
It's the purest form of the bonds.
