21. Visiting Aiden

Aiden was like Anna trying to sleep. He just lied on the bed all day. He didn't have his books with him nor can he go to school in this condition.
He just lied and lied on the bed without doing anything.
I have to study.
I have to pay the bills.
I have to tutor the students.
Knock knock
I have to buy groceries.
I have to buy a few books.
Aiden closed his eyes. Just thinking about all the things he had to do he feel tired. Even though he was lying on the bed.
Knock knock.
The knock on the door grabbed his attention.
He looked at the clock which showed 1am at night. Aiden's eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
Who will look for me at this time?
Anna irritated looked at the door.
If you are sleeping then I will wake you up and then we will talk. Why? Because I am unable to sleep.
Anna didn't hear anything from inside and directly opened the door.
An injured girl looked at the battered boy. Both covered with white gauzes here and there.
Anna rolled her eyes and slowly slowly went to the single couch placed in the room.
"How are you?"
"Who are you?"
Both said at the same time.
Anna looked at the boy irritated.
"Listen here boy, I'm the one and only who saved your bones." Anna said slowly and with gritted teeth. She couldn't shout at the boy at the moment to give him a piece of her mind.
Aiden gave Anna a skeptical look with his black eye.
"Weren't you a little....."
Anna gave the boy a stink eye.
"Oyeee you can't call the one who saved you ugly. Moreover I am a universal beauty. How would you a nerd know about it?"
Anna said angryly but slowly.

Her subconscious laugher sarcastically at her.
Are you serious?
Don't forget to take a look in the mirror once you leave for the school in morning.

Anna shuted up her subconscious.
But her subconscious was also like her.
Yeah yeah I'll shut up our Universal Beauty.
Her subconscious rolled her eyes at her.
Aiden looked at the girl with his judging eyes. She looked like a cartoon with how her expressions were changing rapidly.
"How are you know?" Savannah asked angrily.
"F.fine thank you." Aiden shortly replied.
Anna glared at him.
Couldn't he say that thank you for saving my life. I helped him and even paid his bills.
There was an awkward silence.
"I paid your bills" Anna wants humble at all.
"Ohh, thanks"
Is he shy or what?
"The doctor said you will stay for a week under observation. After that, you can go home but he said about bed rest for another week."
"Ohhh ok."
Anna gritted her teeth but smiled.
She was about to open her mouth to give him a lecture about how to talk.
When Aiden interrupted her.
"How much was the fee?"
"Whole six thousand and 55 dollars not a single cent less" Anna replied without wasting another breath.
"T.then I'll return it to you...(Anna's eyes sparkled thinking that he will give her the money right now) when I'll have it (Her huge smile froze on her face. As if placed in a freezer.) I don't have that much money right now"
Savannah's subconscious cracked her frozen form with a hammer ruthlessly.
"It's fine. Just remember that you have to give me back my money."
"Hmm hmm" Aiden nodded.
"My bag and other things...." Aiden wanted to ask about his things.
"I don't know anything. I just brought you here."
He again nodded.
Does it take so much energy to use his tongue that he won't even say a few words.
"C.Can I use your phone for a while. I want to call somewhere urgently."
Aiden said hesitantly.
Anna looking at his handsome face and his hesitant expression and was struck by his cuteness.
She took out her mobile and immediate gave it to him.
Aiden called his mother.
"Mom, it's me Aiden"
"Hnnhmm I will come home after a few days. I..( he looked at Anna who was busy with her nails but her whole attention was on the conversation.)..I am a little busy for a few days."
"Hmmm....I will send you the money."
"Ok Mom."
"I won't forget"
"Take care of Hannah"
"Bye"
By the time he ended the call and looked at Savannah he found her staring right at him.
Savannah could easily guess that something was wrong with him.
"Who's Hannah?"
Before Aiden could say anything Anna asked him not wanting to out him in an awkward position.
Anna guessed that he wouldn't be comfortable sharing about his family problems.
Aiden who thought that Anna might wanted to ask him some questions. He didn't thought that her first question will be about Hanna.
"My sister"
Anna raised her eyebrows wanting more information.
"Younger sister 6 year old."
"I didn't knew you had a sister."
Savannah said.
Oh really!! I thought you knew. After all you know him for nearly an hour now. No.
Her subconscious mocked her.
Savannah laughed awkwardly and scratched her neck with her left hand. She wanted to scratch her subconscious but alas that was not possible.
"Soo. How is your mother and sister?"
Savannah said.
"Fine."
Again there was complete silence in the room.
Savannah didn't know why she was still sitting here. And Aiden who wanted her to go.
Anna rolled her eyes.
"In which school does your sister study."
"She..she isn't studying."
Aiden said sadly.His eyes filled with sadness.
"She is ill."
Aiden didn't wanted to elaborate.
Anna nearly stood up to smack his head.
Why can't this man tell something without taking long breaks in between?
When Anna didn't said anything waiting for him to elaborate a little. Aiden sighed.
Why won't she just leave? it's not that she can help me.
"Leukemia."
Savannah's eyes widened in shock.
She didn't dare ask any further questions.
