12. In Elvedin

583 Words
The car screeched loudly as it spun around barely a few inches away from the child before the right side of the back of the car banged with the pole. Savannah's both hands clutched the steering wheel with so much strength that her knuckles turned white. Her pale face showed how frightened she was. She rested her head, glistening with sweat, on her hands that refused to release the tight grip on the steering wheel. I would have to jump off a cliff if something happened to these children. That was the first thought that came in her frightened mind. It will be painful. That was the second thought. The children just knocked the living daylights out of her coming in front of the car from nowhere. She looked at the 4-5 children, from the rear view mirror, that due to shock were stilled in their places. She finally released a breath she didn't realise she was holding. Her expressions soften as she looked at them. How would I have even taken a breath if something happened to them. Savannah looked at the children and made sure that no one was hurt. She immediately reversed the car and zoomed away. The people crowded around the children. Checking if they got hurt. Cursing the taxi driver, which was no one other then one and only Savannah. Savannah looked at the people crowding around the children from the wing mirror and rearview mirror. ......... Elvedin was a small village. 12 miles away from Bury Saint Edmunds. It was once called "Elves Village" and in Latin it meant "Valley of nymphs" The village has a population of less than 300 people. Savannah reached Elveden at quarter to 5 (4:45). The sun has already set by now. The purple sunset hues were now disappearing with every passing minute. Savannah parked the car near a 24/7 convenience store. She took of her school coat and skirt and wore the black hoodie she always carried in her bag. She was completely dressed in black with black skinny jeans and a black hoodie. She wore a black face mask. Savannah looked at her self in the rear view mirror. Only her big clear eyes were visible. The police were deliberately led to another location so that the people who probably kidn*pped John could find his mobile first. They will be coming for the mobile or They are already here. She opened the dashboard. Hoping to find some kind of weapon or anything that she could use to defend herself. And to her extreme shock there was a g*n and pocket knife in the dashboard. People are not allowed to carry a g*n without license. And it was difficult for normal citizen to get the license. Whatever, it will come in handy. 'Just try not to use it. Ok' Her subconscious mind reminded her. Savannah picked up the g*n and tucked it behind her covering it with the hoodie. She took her mobile which showed the blue dot. But it wasn't moving now. She looked around and immediately ran towards the small simple restaurant where the signal was coming from. She stopped a little away from the restaurant. Hid behind a wall and looked around. Scanning the area. She internally winced. ************* What do you think will happen next? Will Anna run away or will be able to get that mobile from deaths clutches?
