Behind the wall

Episode 2

The following day inside the boardroom. sleek, glass-walled conference room, Executives sit around a massive table.

Victoria stands at the head, controlled and fierce.

“If you can’t meet our timeline, we’ll find someone who can.” Victoria short with a fierce look.

The opposing CEO sputters, defeated. Her team states in awe.

Victoria gathers her files, she walks out of the conference room, no smiles, no small talk, just silence as she walks out.

Victoria was known to being ruthless in the boardroom, she wins every negotiation, she dominates every conversation, she was untouchable.

It was lunch time already, Victoria walked to the parking lot, and there was, Daniel, as cute and handsome as ever, Daniel was not alone, he was with a female parking attendant, he seemed like he was enjoying their conversation, he was care free, joking around and laughing uncontrollably.

Something stirred inside Victoria, she was jealous of the scene in front of her.

She didn’t show her emotions at all, she kept walking to the car, Daniel quickly noticed her coming and he went to open the door for her to enter.

“Take me to the restaurant.” Victoria said.

“Got it.” Daniel started the car, he looked in the rear view mirror, and saw the beautiful Victoria looking out the window.

He continued driving till they got to the restaurant.

“Ma’am, we are here.” After stopping the car, Daniel said to Victoria, snapping her out of her thoughts.

Daniel could see that something was worrying Victoria, but he couldn’t dare to ask her about it, their relationship was strictly professional.

Daniel opened the door for Victoria.

“Can you please join me for lunch today?” Victoria asked.

“You want me to join you for lunch?” Daniel was taken aback by Victoria’s question. She never asked him to join her before.

“Yes, is there a problem?” Victoria asked again this time feeling like Daniel will refuse her offer.

“Uhhhmmm.” Daniel said screeching his head, Victoria looked at him waiting for his response.

“Of course I can join you, no problem at all.” Daniel replied playfully. Victoria was relieved Daniel didn’t reject her offer to eat lunch with him.

They walked into the restaurant everyone else couldn’t help but stare at them.

They found their table and ordered food and they started chatting a about themselves.

Victoria got to learn that Daniel was a mechanic and wishes to open his own garage one day.

Victoria let’s her guards down, she actually enjoys Daniel’s company, maybe they could eat lunch together everyday, it wouldn’t be a bad idea at all.

They headed back to the office after lunch.

Later in the parking lot, Daniel waits beside the car, polished and clean, he opens the door for Victoria and she enters.

“How was the rest of your day ma’am?” Daniel asks, not sure if he should have the pep talk.

“It was fine Daniel, thanks for asking.” Victoria answered not wanting to continue with the conversation.

She started focusing on her tablet, and Daniel didn’t dare to say another word.

Daniel was afraid of telling Victoria how she felt, Victoria was not on her league, he was afraid of rejection, he is just a driver and Victoria is a whole CEO of a big company, while he was busy fixing old cars in his own home after work.

Daniel looked down on himself and never thought he could get someone like Victoria to be his girlfriend.
