What they don't know.

Doctor Canes Point of view. I've been working here with these girls for so long, and all they do is see me as the enemy. I love them. I'd do anything for them. I love how perfect their little features are, Malorie, she's so beautiful, even as a child. The first time I saw her my heart stopped. When I heard the story of that poor child just running around in the woods. Her clothes rags by the time they found her. During the initial search for her parent's, the Sheriff found a suicide note. The note stated that they argued weather to take Malorie with them or not, but they decided she would be better off without them. How cruel can you be? Leaving this defenseless child alone in the world. Flash back The Sheriff enters the institute carrying a small child, this is the second one he's brought to be under my care. This officer just happened to be a friend of mine. He's a good guy, he has gotten me out of a lot of bad situations. I guess it's a good thing when your friend is the Sheriff. "L, we have another one for you. This one is tragic..." He says to me, with a saddened look on his face. In his arms he was carrying a small child. She was cradled in his arms asleep, Holding on as tight as her little arms could. She was thin, no doubt from how long she was in the woods alone. I called for Mrs. Engel to get her a room ready, and as she did, my buddy told me her story. I could help but feel so saddened for this little girl. He told me of her mental state, and I got excited! I might be able to fix this one. Madeline while beautiful was a lost cause. There was no saving her, even with all the work we had done on her and trying to rewire her brain, she was too far gone. When Malorie woke up for the first time, her emerald, green eyes stared into me. Touching my soul. I had to save this child, this beautiful blonde curly haired, green-eyed girl. It's such a shame to be damaged at such a young age. The Sherrif left after placing her in her new bed. I wheeled her into her room and sat next to her for a moment while Mrs., Engel brought her some food. "Oh good heavens!" Mrs. Engel said throwing her hand over her chest. "You poor child!" She says as she places the tray of food down and hugs Malorie. Just then Malorie burst into tears and cried heavily into Mrs. Engels embrace. I think that's exactly what she needed. After a while she settled down and decided to eat. We waited with her until she finished. I cleared my throat. "Mrs. Engels, she needs to rest, you are to be her personal Nanny and nurse. Let nobody else near this child." She nods and as we turn to leave, I rub Malorie's cheek. Rest now child, I am going to fix you. With that we left so I could debrief Mrs. Engels about Malorie's case. End Flash Back Madeline on the other hand. She is like a beautiful nightmare! Blue eyes and Hair like fire. The child is terrifying. She murdered her entire family and set the place on fire after, and just watched it burn. No remorse. She was as apathetic as they get. I wanted to save her, but the more I pushed, the more the voices in her head pushed back, convincing her they knew what's best. She will spend her life in this facility. I would have myself committed before i ever think about letting her go free out into that world. Not only is she a danger to the outside world but also a danger to herself. We suspect the voices are coming from the box she has, but nothing has ever been proven and she won't let us take it away. I believe that it was a dybbuk box that was tossed aside unknowingly and that's when the voices were released to her. She is a strange child, but I would not put it passed her to be possessed. Mrs. Engels Point of View When I first saw Malorie, something in me told me I had to take care of this child. When I heard her story, I absolutely knew I would devote my life to making her happy. What kind of parent would leave their child in this world alone? What could she have done to deserve this? That night I got on my hands and knees a prayed. I vowed to protect this child whatever it took. It breaks my heart to still see her struggling every day. Whatever possessed her to try and kill herself, even if it was in her head, is unholy and I must get rid of it. Landon cannot have my child I will not let him! I've been buying my time here, so nobody suspects a thing, but her last episode really set us back. She doesn't belong here, and she has been here too long. I think the doc suspects something because every time I get everything set in motion, something happens to her and sets us back. Not anymore, and not this time! And I won't let that wretched little brad Madeline do anything either. She is a nightmare and has always had it out for Malorie ever since the first day she got her. The sad thing is that Malorie actually thought they were best friends at one point in time, but she quickly realized Maddy had different intentions. One time I found Maddy cornering Malorie in the bathroom, attempting to stab her with a fork. How she got a fork I have no idea. I've been doing my research on this Landon character but haven't found anything yet. I've looked at lore, Greek mythology, even names of demons and can't find anything. I'm trying to figure out how he is the same between the two girls and why Maddie believes Malorie is trying to take him from her. I will figure it out, but I have to get Malorie out of here. She is my top priority and if I can't save her, nobody can.
