I wake up early. Landon is nowhere in sight, So I make my way over to the work out room, and slowly open the door. The room is huge and seems to be never ending. There is every piece of equipment it seems, and the walls are covered in floor to ceiling length mirrors. Looking to my left I see vending machines stocked with energy drinks, and other drinks for rehydration. I go over and push a button to select a blue Powerade. I slowly open it and take a drink. I savor the flavor before scanning the room to try and figure out what machine I'd like to use first. I settle on a treadmill. I walk up to it and turn it on. To my surprise my very own personal trainer shows up on the screen. I select beginners' mode and do what she tells me for as long as I'm able, but my legs quicky feel like jelly, so I'm forced to stop. I get down and walk over to the weights. I pick up the 5lb weight and start doing some hammer curls, but I feel like it's doing nothing, so I pick up the 10 instead. I quickly feel the burn. I continue until the pain becomes too much, I don't want to overwork my muscles on the first day, so I stop and turn to leave the gym. A shower would be night right now. I leave the gym and start walking towards my room when a strong hand grabs my arm. I turn to see a frantic Landon looking at me. "WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?" He screams in my face. "I was working out, you said I was free to do whatever I'd like as long as I stayed inside, right?" I reply trying to remain calm. He signs. "I'm sorry, I was worried someone came and took you away from me." I looked at him inquisitively, but he just shook his head. "Never mind, go take a shower, I'll have breakfast ready when you're finished." He says and walks into the kitchen. I let out a huff in frustration and walk into my bedroom. I walk over to the armoire and grab a pretty sundress and new underwear and walk to the bathroom. Turning on the water I slip out of my dirty workout clothes and slowly get it. I love the way the warm water feels on my skin. I turn it up a little hotter. The heat makes me feel alive. I needed this. I begin to relax as my stiff muscles slowly soften under the hot water. I was my body and hair and when I'm finished, I turn the water off and grab a towel. I dry off and rub Lavender lotion all over my body, then get dressed and brush my teeth. If I didn't know I was in danger, I might just like it here, but I have to play the game for a little bit longer, I can't let him suspect anything. I can't act too soon. I walk out of the room and over to the breakfast table, and as promised, There's food on the table ready for me. There's a stack of pancakes, and assortment of flavored syrups, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, and bacon. It looks delicious I think to myself as my stomach growls from hunger. Landon comes over and fills up my plate with food. I don't hesitate to dig in, stuffing my face, hurrying to finish before asking for seconds. Landon Obliges my request by filling up my plate again. I look up at him and he's staring at me, grinning. I instantly feel sick to my stomach. I stop eating but before I can push my plate away, I see an angry look flash across his face. "Tsk." He says, clicking his tongue. "It's rude to waste food others have gone through the trouble of making you, now finish what's on your plate, then you may go to your room." I glare at him, but don't argue as I continue eating. "Okay, dad." I think sarcastically in my head. I don't dare say it out loud. When I finish, I finally push my plate away and ask for permission to leave the table. He silently nods and I get up and walk away. I lay down on my bed exhausted, and drift to sleep. Malorie's Dream I'm standing at the top of a waterfall, looking down at the water hitting the rocks below. I feel like I've been here before. Maybe in a different life. There's no way anyone would have ever brought me anywhere this beautiful before. "But you have been here before." A voice says from behind. I turn around and see the familiar woman with purple eyes. "No." I reply. "Nobody would have ever taken me here." "My dear girl, your mother and father used to bring her here as a child, before the accident." She says. I stare at her for a moment. "The accident." I say, trying to remember, but no matter how hard I try, I just can't. "How would you even know?" I ask. "It's not like you are actually real. You say you're me, but you're just in my head, a reflection of what I wish I could be." "Of course, I'm you, my dear, I am the part of you that's true to who you are. The realest of them all. I know it's hard for you to understand, but someday you will. I promise you!" She disappears and I'm Left with my thoughts once again. I sit in the grass and watch the waves the water is creating. I wish I could remember this place. I wish I remembered my parents. My parents. I don't even remember having them. Did they love me? Why aren't they here for me now. Are they looking for me? I have so many questions and answers to nothing. I pull my hair in frustration. UGH. When will this mystery end?!
