All roads lead to Maria

Chapter 4

As Vice President, Chloe was something like Maria’s assistant, You could even say Secretary, but most of all she was the one who was around Maria the most, And knew the most about her. They even shared the same living space, so Chloe could hear Maria talking to herself and screaming every night. That's exactly why she could tell that Maria had been acting strange lately. Chloe knew that it was best not to approach Maria directly,with what she had noticed, and question her, simply for the reason that she did not want to put her under any more stress than she had to be, so she figured she would find out exactly what was wrong, and try to help her on her own. Yes, this was her logic, to clean up Maria's mess just as she had done before. Just like how last week Maria had broken every mirror in their residence, and rolled around screaming in broken glass. She passed out, so then Chloe cleaned her up, and the mess. After that, Maria woke up With no memory of recent events, and asked Chloe what happened. Unable to utter the piercing truth, Chloe lied and said Maria got into a fight and passed out. To everyone, Maria seemed normal on the outside, but Chloe knew she was not. “ Come on Chloe, lets leave now.” said Maria.

“ Ok” said Chloe. They began to walk back to their apartment past people and animals, both in a daze with their minds elsewhere, as if they were in their own world, thinking of the consequences of going against group b to get Tristen. The reason for this is; group b was not only ruling over one district but had five, this was the biggest opponent group z had ever dared to challenge, and group z was fairly new compared to group b which had been around for 50 years. They shut and locked the door behind them as they came back into focus.”Chloe” Maria said, as she pushed her into the wall, “ Recently you seem to be avoiding me, what are you hiding from me Chloe, and tell me the truth.” For a second Chloe hesitated, but then realizing she was unable to find a way out of this, she told Maria everything.. Maria gasped and looked away feeling embarrassed and flabbergasted. “Maria are you alright?”, asked Chloe. “ Yes I’m fine I’m going to my room”, she replied in a shaky voice. When Maria got to her room she immediately knew what was the cause of this. “ What have you done to me” she asked the voice. Then there was no reply. “Samantha speak to me” she now said loudly .

“Come see me in the mirror,” Samantha demanded.

Maria came to the mirror obediently, realizing she was in no place to fight back. In the mirror she saw herself, but this figure had a strange expression, different hair, and dressed differently. “ Maria what did I do wrong to have you so pissed off” she said jokingly, followed by a low pitched chuckle. “ (Maria) you said that we would co exist not, make me act crazy every night!.” “ (Samantha)What am I supposed to do?! You don’t even have fun!! Can I not create my own source of entertainment?!” “ (Maria)You must be insane if you think I’m about to sit back and let you ruin my life!!! What even are you?!” Samantha replied sincerely, “I’m a person just like you and you’re ruining my life trying to control my body.” Maria was shocked. “ What do you mean your body?!the deal is off so get out.” Samantha became very angry . “I offered to coexist but now I’ll have to take over.!!! Maria stood there unable to move . Now everything became dark, Maria was falling into a dark abyss,filled with white moths, but little did she know that she was now the voice in the head and Samantha was controlling “her” body. Samantha looked into the mirror and cracked her neck as she said “ Well, buh-bye Maria-hahaha.!! If you wanna live life right you gotta do it your damn self!!!”

Samantha now walked out of the bathroom knowing exactly what she wanted to do. Meanwhile, Maria floated aimlessly within a dark abyss.
