Aiden POV As expected, she snorts and then laughs at us. I kind of expected her to do that. But it still stings a little. My mood dampens instantly, although I try not to show it and keep my outer appearance calm. After a few uncomfortable seconds, her laughter dies down and her eyes dart between the both of us. “You don’t expect me to believe that, do you?”. Huh? “Why wouldn’t you? We’re not exactly proud of being this… inexperienced”. Asher responds confusedly. She leans back in her chair and just stares at us. Before either of us have summoned the courage to say anything else, an overly eager waitress approaches our table. Zayan growls in my head, and it isn’t until I peel my eyes away from Athena that I understand why. She is looking at Asher and me like we are her next meal.
