Chapter 12 Cora was nowhere to be seen. Either she was hiding or was gone for the day. I didn’t really give it any thought. I found the wine rack and chose one at random, knowing nothing about wine it made no difference to me. Glasses were easy to find; they were right next to the rack. Just as I was making my way out of the kitchen I nearly ran over Jobeth. She let out a little shriek from being startled. I hurried to cover my nudity—such as it was—with the wine bottle and glasses. That was a disaster. I had neatly placed the glasses’ stems between my fingers and when I covered myself, they smashed to pieces on the tiled floor.
