Jacques fell in love with three women at once. All of them, however, couldn’t find anything attractive about him. He had long greasy hair he hardly ever washed, a face full of pimples that left his cheeks as pockmarked as a pineapple. He was also a scrawny young man who wore a pair of coke-bottle spectacles that made him appear bug-eyed, like a beetle or any other variety of insect. He attributed the unrequitedness of his love, however, mainly to his face – a pimply, pizza-faced mess.
