He wanted nothing to do with the world anymore, and so from the urbane city-living that Boulder afforded him, he took whatever remained in his bank account and moved up into the mountains. He moved to an isolated spot where he would now live among the fresh pines and heavy snows surrounding a log cabin he rented. He paid his rent through periodic visits from his landlord when she needed a little w**d to get her by. But beside the landlord, no one else even knew that he had left the city. He left behind a bad reputation for screwing people over as far as money was concerned. He left his girlfriend whom he was sick of by the time they called it quits, and he also left most of his furniture with her when he vacated their apartment.And now he could breathe in the crisp air as fresh as anything
