(QUINN'S POV)
"Beta Asher, can I ask you a question in my mom's office please?"
"Sure, Quinn will be there in 5 minutes. Oh and Quinn, don't call me Beta again. You are my future alpha and son-in-law."
"Yes sir. I will be waiting for you."
We cut our connection as I made it to the office. I sat at mom's desk and waited for Asher. As I sat there waiting, I was thinking of ways to ask him if I could take Kari out to lunch. I wanted to spend time with my mate and I really needed it if she was really about to shift. Before I could think about what to say, there was a knock on the door and Asher walked in. Not only is this man our Beta, he was our head warrior and trainer. He is very strict and he trains Kari along with my dad.
"You wanted to speak with me?" The glint in his eyes told me he had talked to Sierra and two, he was going to give me a hard time, but I was ready.
"Yes sir, I'll just get straight to the point. I would like to take your daughter out for lunch today and I would like to ask you first."
You can see Lycan trying to get through to speak to me, but Asher controls him and says,
" I will let you take my little wolf under one condition."
"What's that?"
"You have to let me train you one on one for 2 months so I know you can protect my little girl and my Luna." His eyes went to a bright orange, letting me know that Lycan was out.
"Anything to prove that I would do anything for her."
"Good. Oh and Quinn."
"Yes Lycan?"
" You should not tell anyone. I know you are my future Alpha, but look at it as a father asking his son-in-law to keep this a secret and to know you can protect her and our pack."
"I understand Lycan, you have my word dad." I smiled at him, "Lycan, what kind of training will we be doing?"
"Whatever I see, fit, son, to protect my pup."
"Very well, Lycan. Now can I please take Kari out to lunch? I promise that I will have her home by 6:30. I also promise to protect her with my life."
"Yes, you can take her. But Quinn, if anything happens to my baby girl, Asher or your dad, he will not be able to save you from my wrath." Lycan gives back control.
"Thank you Asher, thank you Lycan. I will always protect her."
"You better Quinn."
(KARI'S POV)
I am currently sitting in math class, the worst class ever. But my second favorite time is next lunch. Mr. Jackson was talking about something to do with calculus when he stopped and his eyes glazed over.
"Kari you need in the Luna's office."
"Yes sir."
I gathered my things and put them in my bag and headed for my locker and put my things away. I closed my locker and headed to Luna's office. When I got to Luna Skylar's office, I knocked on the door but there was no answer. So I opened the door and walked in.
""Luna Skylar, you wanted to see me?"
The chair slowly turns, revealing Quinn sitting in Luna's chair, but his eyes were closed for some reason.
"Quinn, you scared me. I thought I was in trouble or something was wrong." He opened his eyes but they were metallic red.
"Oh Blay hello again. How are you?" I showed my neck as a sign of respect.
"Kari, lift your head. I am well thank you. Are you excited about meeting your wolf?"
"Oh yes, I can't wait to meet her. She will be my best friend. But Blay, is everything okay? Has something happened to Quinn?"
"Oh no sweetheart Quinn is fine.,, it's just been a while since I have seen you or anyone."
"Oh okay. I miss seeing you too. Maybe one day this week before my shift we can go for a run like we used to."
"I would like that but, Kari, you have to do something for me. The night after your shift, meet Quinn and I want to show you and your wolf something."
"Of course, Blay, I would be happy to. What time would you like us there?"
"Two in the morning right after your first run with your family."
"Okay, we will be there."
"Goodbye Kari. Quinn has a question for you also. I'll see you soon Kari. Before I go, this is our little secret. Okay, you can't even tell Quinn."
"Goodbye Blay, I will see you soon. I won't say anything, I promise."
Quinn's eyes changed back to their beautiful aqua blue.
"Kari, are you okay? Blay didn't hurt you, did he?"
"No im fine. He was just asking if I was ready to meet my wolf and to wish me luck on my first shift?"
"Good, hey Kari, I was wondering if you would like to join me for lunch today and help me get the groceries our moms need. Before you say anything, I have already asked my mom and your parents."
"Oh, okay, then of course, I would love to have lunch with you."
The excitement that showed in his eyes was hard to miss. We walked out of Luna's office toward his jeep.
"Where are we heading for lunch?"
"You'll see."
