3 hours. It took 3 hours to be told I broke my hand, splinted, medicated for pain and was allowed to make my way home. 3. FREAKING. HOURS. Signing my discharge papers was a hard task, but I managed to get them done. Was told I needed to come back in 6 weeks to take off the cast with a script for pain meds to pick up from the pharmacy. Looking around I relished I was left alone. I hadn't seen Anthony since I got out of imaging. Figured he decided to call it quits for the night and took off. I guess an Uber is in order since my car is at the arena. Ughhh can this night get any worse? Waiting for my Uber a black suv pulled up next to me. A tall gentleman rounded the car dressed in a black suit with a grey vest on. "Alex I presume?" His deep rich voice asked me. "UMM ye..yes sir. Can I help you?" "I'm sorry ma'am, my name is Gray, I work for Mr. Reed. He asked me to come and pick you up to take you home. He sends his regards but needed to get some sleep before practice tomorrow, I hope you don't mind." "Oh no, I called an Uber, they should be here any minute. I can catch my own ride while you go back home. I really don't mind, but thank you though. That was really sweet of you to come for me, but please let Anthony know I made it home safe. I promise I won't tell anyone." I didn't want to put this man out of his way anymore than he already was. I felt bad he had to come for me when he could have been in bed sleeping instead of picking up a stranger from the hospital in the middle of the night. I also found it a little rude to send someone to pick me up instead of just having a nurse inform me he had to go and find another ride all together, which I did. "Miss if you don't mind, I'd feel better if I just took you home myself. Mr. Reed also asked me to pick up your car in the morning that way you wouldn't have to worry about it later on." Now I definitely feel bad about all this back and fourth but from the look on his face, there was no room for arguments. I stood up while taking hold of my bag and made my way to the car. Gray opened the door for me, allowing me to slide in to the front passenger seat. He rounded the car and jumped back in, buckling himself to his seat. "Where to miss?" "You can just use my name you know? And I live near downtown just off of 4th. " We drove in silence aside from the occasional direction giving.we pulled up in front of my place within 20 minutes. Gray got out to open my door "It was lovely meeting you Miss.... I mean Alex. I'll be back later in the morning with your car. I hope you can get some rest." With that he backed away and left without another word. I went inside, undressed myself as best I could given my current state not caring that I was only in my underwear I got in bed and fell into a dream less sleep full of silence. The nights events finally taking a toll on my poor mind.
