“We need to talk.” Atlas’ baritone voice filled my ears. My grip on the door handle tightened. “I need to talk to you,” He corrected. “Please?” He tried again and I rolled my eyes. I opened the door and a small smile grazed his lips, only to turn upside down as I walked past him. My heart raced but I didn’t stop. “Julia?” His voice cracked. “Won’t you even… look at me?” I continued walking and he grabbed my wrist. I retracted it as if he’d stung me. Atlas seemed like he’d been stung for real. “Okay, fine.” He raised his hands as if offering a peace sign. “I won’t touch you.” Who knew he would be so obedient? Respecting boundaries and all.
