“Leo! It’s my turn!” Lily hissed as they bickered.
I could barely hear them over the sound of Greta pulling the twentieth dress over my head.
We are on the jet, returning to Germany. I was on the jet, returning alone.
While the person who completed me was all the way over there. On some island whose address I didn’t even know.
“Julia…” Greta paused.
“Take the dresses away,” I whispered, yanking the designer dress off me.
“Atlas bought them with a love of us,”
“Love that wasn’t strong enough to keep him here,” A tear rolled down my cheek.
“Julia. I think you’re taking this the wrong way.”
“He’s my husband, Greta. I know him better than I know myself. Something is wrong and I can’t do anything to fix it,” I let a sob break through. “I can’t even describe how this feels,”
