I was terrified by his warning because this time, I had indeed made a mistake. I lied to Jacob Hayes, on his face and I was now regretting that as he walked out of the room. He was powerful and he tend to know it all, which was making me more anxious since I feared that he might come to know about the note I received and then I would have to bear his anger and the agony he would inflict upon me. But it was what I was supposed to do. I couldn’t let my kidnapper know that someone might be trying to help me to escape.
