After waiting in my room for a few seconds and pondering what Jacob might have on his mind, I finally managed to gather myself and take a step forward behind Jacob as he left the room. Once again, I felt anxious, scared, frustrated, and helpless. While Jacob began to descend the stairs quickly, I picked up a slow pace and began to follow him, constantly thinking about the note I received the previous day.
