I wake up in a cold sweat, just like I have for the past ten years. That memory haunts me most of the time.

“I know I just miss her,” I sigh. *Knock knock.*

“Come in mom! I yell

Anissa: “You don’t have to yell; you know we’re werewolves, right?” she chuckles.

“Oh yeah,” I say sarcastically, and she just rolls her eyes.

“Is everything okay, baby?”

“Yeah, I just had the dream again,” I say, shaking my head.

“Oh dear, we all remember that tragic day. Just know she’s always with you.”

I clutch the necklace that my mom and dad made for me in memory of my best friend. It features a picture of us together, enjoying our favorite ice cream—butter pecan—while laughing and cherishing each other's company.

Now, let’s repeat our mantra!

This is something we came up with after my little setback with grief.

Anissa rubs his arm, helping to calm him a little, but he can’t shake the worry for his little girl, lying there, and he just wants her to open her eyes.

“Everything is fine. She is stable; her body is just recovering from a tremendous shock,” Dr. Raymond says.

Zena POV

“Wake up my dear Ze”

She opened her eyes to a beautiful sky filled with stars and a perfect moon. The smell of lilies surrounded her as she found herself in a warm embrace.

“Nanny?” she asked, voice filled with uncertainty.

“Yes, my dear Ze, it’s Nanny,” she replied. “Oh, my sweet, I missed you so much.” She hugged her tightly, squeezing her tight.

“But Nanny I thought”

She was cut off my by her grandma

“ I am baby but moon mother thought it would be better if you was woke to a familiar face” she smiled

A spark of confusion lit up her eyes. “Moon Mother?

“Oh no, Nanny! I’m not ready! Oh, dear Goddess, not yet, please! I don’t want to be here just yet. No offense, Nanny—I miss you dearly—but whoa!”

“None taken, my dear!” Nanny chuckled warmly. “It’s simply not your time yet!”

"My dear child, so brave and full of life," Zena gasped her eyes wide as she gazed upon the most beautiful person. The woman's jet-black hair, accented with silver streaks, flowed in waves down her back. A long, royal blue dress draped elegantly against her flawless skin.

“Mother Selene” Says Zena

Yes, dear, it’s me. No, it is not your time. I brought you here because you experienced a tragedy far too early, and your mind needed time to heal.

“Ariel” Zena said

Unfortunately, I don’t always know what my creations are planning, and I can’t always intervene when it comes to death. I want you to grieve her loss in your own way, but don’t dwell on it. She is very well taken care of here. I have something very special for someone special.”

A majestic wolf with white fur that sparkles like glitter approached her, its paws a striking blue. The tip of its tail was also blue, and its eyes shone with a silver hue.

“This is Miya. She will be your wolf “ Selene says as she rubs her fur and Miya purrrss.

“My wolf I’m only 10 years old”

“As I said you’re a special person” Selene smiles. All will be explained in due time but until then train hard, and always stand up for what you believe in.

“Yes Mother” Little Zena says

“It’s time to send you back before your dad rips someone head off about his baby girl”

*Zena giggles and runs to hug Selene and then her Nanny. She starts to feel herself fading but hears a sweet but firm voice saying, “Tell Nissa to pick that spell book up or else.” “

Adonis POV

As I rub my baby girl's hair, I see her nose twitch. I started to ask Anissa if she saw it, but she's leaned over holding Zena hand sleep. All of a sudden Zena eyes pop open but they’re not her eyes they’re silver

“Uh honey you might want to wake up now” Adonis slightly yelled

What happen is she awake Anissa jumps from her nap head butting her mate.

Oh Goddess Anissa what have I told you about your big head Adonis chuckles

“Anissa glared”

“Hey, you must be Mom. You’re beautiful! And, Dad, do you mind if I call you that, or do you prefer 'Pops'? No matter—I’ll call you Dad. I’m Miya, Zena’s wolf. By the way, she’s doing fine; I just wanted to get here first. and say Hi.

“Hi,” Adonis says once he’s out of shock. “Her wolf? You’re early.” “I know, Mother Moon.” wanted to send a gift to keep her comfy so here I am” We’ll catch up soon dad. Man I’ll never get tired of that Mom Dad Mom Dad

“Miya” Adonis said still in a little shock but smiling “Give Zena Control

“Oh ok Love you guys”

they chuckle

Her eyes finally switched from Silver to Amber

“"Oh, baby girl, you had us so worried! Don’t scare us like that," Adonis says.

"Oh, my baby, how are you feeling? You need some water," Anissa says as she walks to grab a cup. "Doni, link the doctor," she adds while returning to her baby.

““Mom?”

“Yes, sweetie?”

“Nanny said to pick up that spell book or else.”

Anissa's eyes widened in disbelief.

“What do you mean, honey?”

“That's what she told me to tell you when I was leaving.”

“Where did you go?”

“I talked to Mother Moon, but she sent Nanny first so I wouldn’t be scared when I woke up.”

“Still telling you what to do from the grave, huh, honey?” Adonis chuckled.

““Oh, shut up,” she elbowed his side.

“She’s right, though. It’s been a while, and if Mother Moon sent her wolf this early, there’s no telling when she will come into her powers or if she already has.”

“I have,” Zena blurted.

“What When?

“When I was about 5 right before Nanny died she was helping me” Zena states as a matter of fact

Anissa just stood with her mouth wide open

The Dr came in and checked all her vitals and told her she could be released.

“Can I skip school tomorrow dad”

“Of course baby girl especially since tomorrow is Saturday he laughed as he picked her up to carry her back to the pack house.

Mom I would like to go see Mr and Ms Dixon.

“How about we go get you some food and I’ll call Sara and see if they would like some company”

Ok that’s fine.

As I’m sitting eating the back door bust open

“This is all your fault what we’re you doing in the clearing.” Mr.John yells

“John stand down!” My father booms unleashing his Beta aura so he’s forced to submit. “It’s nobody fault but the rogue that attacked a group of helpless children.”

“They shouldn’t have been there” he starts to cry

My father walks to embrace him in a hug but he just backs out the kitchen and slams the door.

Moms holding me telling me it’s not my fault but it was my idea to play there. I just couldn’t shake the cloud of guilt hovering over me.

*Flashback Ends*

Here I am still seeing my Therapist Ms.Conner for the past 10 years. Not as often though only when I feel as if I’m gonna break down.

“Ze why don’t get a shower and come down for breakfast”

Ok Mom I’ll be there.

I start the shower and just stand under the water for a few to loosen some of tension built up. After about 40 minutes I step out of the shower to get dressed. I stop in front of the mirror to realize I didn’t braid my hair before jumping in the shower.

“Crap this is gonna be so hard to untangle” I roll my eyes. I get dressed and sit at my vanity and begin to pick at this bush I call a fro on my head. I throw my daily products on it to keep it moist and bouncy and tie my string to create my famous bushy ponytail. Double check the mirror and walk out down to breakfast.

As I’m walking I bump into none of than Hannah and her b**** brigade

“Um excuse you I know you seen us walking”

“I did you also seen me walking and heard when I said excuse me” I say annoyed

“I am the Alpha’s daughter you will respect me mutt” she starts to yell right before knocking me down.

My eyes flashed silver but I quickly took back control before Miya got us both in trouble.

“Your eyes, what just happened” Stacy gasped

“Um nothing what are you talking about” I pretend to not know what she was talking about.

“Yea Stace I didn’t see anything either you’re being weird” Hannah says to her friend

“But I thought I” “Oh shutup you i***t”she was cut off by Hannah and her rudeness

I got up and dust myself off to head to the dining area.

Hannah calls out to me and says “ Stay out my way b****.”

“Now why did you do that we could’ve got in trouble if we were caught” I say to Miya

“ I just wanna rip her face off one time we both know you can beat her I don’t know why you don’t just grab her by the neck sometimes and just sling her like arg arg arg” Miya says growling. She can be very dramatic most of the time.

“Because MyPie nobody is suppose to know I have you yet that’s why dad taught me to hide my scent it could cause us a lot of problems.

“Yea yea just one little Pu..”

“Miya” I say giggling

“Ok fine” she put up her block.

She can be relentless sometimes I say to myself but I love her and she’s my bestfriend.

I feel it shift a little and heard her say “ I love you too” in a pouty voice.. She’s such a brat.

I finally make it to eat I get scramble eggs extra cheese, sausage, bacon, 3 pancakes, a waffle some fruit cause I’m trying to watch my figure *I think to myself laughing hard on the inside” a cup of orange juice and a bottle of water. People always ask how I eat so much but little do they know it’s this greedy wolf appetite..

“Well if it isn’t daddy’s little girl” my oldest brother Damoni say

“Shutup Moni you’re just mad I kicked your a* while sparring yesterday”

“Language Zena” mom yells

“Sorry Mom” I shrug

“Now babygirl you know I don’t won’t you using that kind of language” Around your mom he leans to whisper the last part.

But she heard him and kicked his shin under the table.

“Ouch honey”

“That’s why she’s like she is now you’re teaching her to have vile mouth and even worse attitude Doni” Mom says looking annoyed

“Im teaching her to not take s* from anyone” Dad says chuckling and I laugh

Mom cuts her eye at the both of us and we put our head down to eat. She can be scary sometimes and I think my dad is actually scared of her I know I am.
