Damian's pov
Throughout the meeting with Aria I couldn’t focus
I had no idea what I did so wrong for her to leave or should I say run?
She f*****g ran from me,for reasons unknown to me
With just a note and our wedding ring
Of course,I intentionally gave the contract to her when I heard the name “Hayes” wanting to know if it was my runaway wife but imagine my surprise when it was really her indeed and guess what??
She pretended
She pretended like we didn’t f*****g know each other
Like we haven’t f****d and like we weren’t married at all
I decided to play along with her games not knowing to know the limit she was willing to go but damnnn,the woman i saw inside the meeting was no longer the same girl I met years ago
The one who looked at me like I was her whole world
The one who loved me unconditionally despite my flaws
She didn’t love me for my money
She just love me for me and that was what f*****g hurts
I was madly in love with her but I was raging as well as I couldn’t make out her reasons for fleeing like that
I searched the entire city that day for and she was nowhere to be found
She played her games right like she was planning it for years
Like she wanted my heart and left right after she got it
Not able to hold my anger after the meeting I decided to wait for her to talk things out but she was there smiling and talking with the asshole that claimed he was a partner
Jealousy burned through me like fire and I angrily left the room
I waited quietly in the lobby and finally got my chance and dragged her in a corner
She sure as well was not leaving without an explanation
I needed answers and I needed it right away
I couldn’t just let it be
She was mine and mine alone
As we stared at each other I just wanted to kiss her so badly
I was miserable without her
She was the light in my darkness
She was my reason to live
I needed her like I needed air
But what got me stunned was the woman that looked back at me
She looked so cold
So detached from the world
I couldn’t help but feel like my heart had been ripped out of my chest
She looked irritated by my touch
“Let me go,Mr.Voss” she mutters coldly
“Mr.Voss?f*****g hell Aria don’t play games with me,I need to know where you have been for four years,four f*****g months,you left me with just a note and our wedding ring like everything meant nothing to you”
“Oh please,don’t act so innocent,just let me go,I don’t have time to entertain your rubbish I have work to do”She shrugs me off and makes a move to leave but I hold her back and give her a crushing kiss
I bit her lips so hard and she whimpered and immediately pushed me away and then the entire lobby rang with a slap
I looked at her in shock
Definitely not expecting this from my soft hearted Aria
She has really changed
It was like every side she showed me before was simply a facade
Like she was pretending the entire time she was with me
“Don’t f*****g try that again in your life else you will get more than a slap”she harshly says
She leaves me there
And all I could hear was her stilettos as it kissed the floor gently and boldly
My mind was blank
I couldn’t even fathom or understand what was going on inside that head of hers
I needed to know what she was thinking and why she did everything she did
I immediately dial my secretary “have you been able to get the surveillance of the hotel from four years ago?”
“No,boss.They are claiming that the cctv was not working that night,I have approached everyone I could but I still got nothing”
“Just do whatever you can”I say,ending the call
I thought Aria just left to hurt me because she wanted to but seeing from her reaction today and her cold attitude,I knew it had something to do with the anniversary night as I suspected from the beginning
A million thoughts of why she left ran through my head for four years and now I finally narrowed it down to our anniversary night
She never showed up to the room and by the time I reached the penthouse,she was gone.
She disappeared like air
And I was going to find out why
