Chapter Five: Anxiety

Aria's Pov
The past few days has been crazy
I had to work again and again because of Damian’s inability to let go of his pride and ego
I swear he was out for my life
He wasn’t satisfied with anything I did
He sometimes never even looked at the plan and rejected it
I got so tired of everything but despite that I couldn’t lose the game he so badly wanted to play
I was going to tolerate and work on it till he accepted one
My firm needed to deliver something the client couldn’t refuse and that’s what we are exactly going to do
As I sit in my office,my phone beeps and I am reminded it was time to go get my baby.
I quickly packed everything up and hurriedly left to avoid being late
I missed my baby and couldn’t wait to see him
As I arrived inside the school,I see him waiting with his classmates with their school bags in hand
He is definitely not interacting with them but he seemed to have piqued someone’s interest,a cute girl at that
She was a chatterbox and was pestering him but she got no reply from him
He looked really annoyed but as his mother,Liam still standing there meant he liked the girl but he was playing hard to get
I let out a laugh which drew his attention to me and he immediately ran over to me
I bend down and kiss him but my gaze stops on his gray eyes
I am yet again reminded of him
Of Damian
And then suddenly it crosses me
Anxiety rushed over me
What will happen when he finds out about Liam
He was smart so when he sees him,he will definitely be suspicious
The looked so alike
I got scared
No!
I couldn’t let that happen
Liam was mine alone
He was my son and no one else’s
I couldn’t let Damian take him or even see him
I made up my mind to stop bringing him to the office on his off school days or rather keep him hidden in my rest room in the office if ever Damian was to coincidentally walk in as I couldn’t leave Liam all alone at home
I began strategizing but all my plans went down the drain
I couldn’t find a nanny
I couldn’t leave him at home and I definitely wouldn’t lock him up in a room
I stared blankly
“Mommy, why are you staring again?Did you see daddy today?”
My eyes immediately widened as I look at him
“What are you talking about”
“Every kid talks about their dad in school and how they all live together like a happy family but I don’t have one.Where is he?”
“Oh baby your dad is no longer with us but you don’t need him,we only need each other “I hurriedly said
What else can you tell a child asking about his dad?
Your daddy cheated and I left him
Or hey your dad is a scumbag
I definitely couldn’t and furthermore,we didn’t need anyone
We are happy as we are
As I gently pat him and carry him into the car
I felt my heart beat increase
I was nervous and giddy at the same time and cautious as well
I was going to try and keep them away from each other as soon as possible
I just had to find a way
The next day as I entered the office my secretary rushed to my side
“Ma’am LM has rejected yet another proposal,the whole team is nervous now and tired as well”
“Don’t worry I will handle it”
I can’t take this anymore
I will talk to Damian myself
The frustration he was putting me through was more than enough
I head out for his office in LM but he was in headquarters
I sigh going back to Voss Enterprise was something I definitely wasn’t expecting
I didn’t want to remember our past memories
How I brought him lunch every time
How we f****d in his office desk several times
Or how I sat down and watched him work most of the time
I couldn’t go down that memory lane
Standing in front of the almighty building of Voss Enterprise, I exhale deeply and head in
I was going to settle this once and for all
I was over him now
So I won’t get sidetracked by his handsome face or his beautiful gray eyes

I definitely won’t fall for his lies again
I needed him to be out of my hair as soon as possible
