"Impossible!"
Kathleen stared at Ella in shock, her vision swimming as she nearly collapsed.
"Josie… What happened to Josie?"
Ella quickly helped her grandmother onto the sofa and handed her the phone. "Grandma, take a look. Josie was caught fooling around with another man at a hotel! She was taken away by the police!"
Kathleen grabbed the phone with trembling hands, her fingers shaking as she stared at the screen. "This can't be true… Josie would never do something like this!"
"Grandma, neither Evan nor I wanted to believe it, but the evidence is right here. Are we supposed to lie to ourselves?"
Ella clung to Kathleen's arm, feigning heartbreak. "Grandma, Josie betrayed Evan. She was with with another man!"
Kathleen struggled to process the accusation and slumped back
