Chapter 6The hot water felt good, sluicing over Gideon’s back. It relaxed some of the residual aches that remained from the fight the night before at Trinity United and washed away the last of the scabbing left from where Mary had staked him. The injury was still mending, but it wouldn’t be that much longer before it was gone completely. It probably wouldn’t even leave much of a scar. Gideon had always healed better than the average vampire. He soaped up his chest, not bothering to rinse away the sting it left on the exposed exit wound.
