but she didn't stop running she ran towards me her face filled with an emotion I never thought I'd ever see.

'FEAR'.

She dragged me away from the river and took off into the woods

"mama what's.....". my sentence was cut short by an explosion went off,we were thrown deeper into the forest with such brutal force.

I colided into a tree I grunted as pain shots from my back throughout my whole body and my mum landed on gracefully on her butt.

she hissed in pain hugging her hand closer to her body.

I crawled over to her desperately assessing her for any further injuries.

"mama are you OK?".I said swatting in front of her I ripped a piece of my skirt and quickly wrapping it around her arm and securing it on her neck.

"I'm fine it's just little cut,we need to get out of here now your in danger".she said desperately trying to get up but failed miserably.

"mama your leg!, what happened".I asked.

"it's a long story, I'll tell you later there's no time we need to leave!".she said successful lifting herself up.

I was still confused about the whole thing, but when I remember the fear in her eyes I knew I had to get her out of here.

I couldn't help but wonder how she managed to get here, with all these serious injuries.

after walking for a few minutes we got to a clearing and when I felt it was safe I gently let mama lean on the tree closest to us.

"why did we stop". she asked breathing heavily

"we need to heal your wounds you've been bleeding a lot and we've left a huge blood trail so even if we succeed in getting out of the forest it would be futile because they can still find us. so let's heal your wounds first".

"you're right". she agreed .

"why are you going through all this trouble just leave me here for now, I promise I'll catch up with you when I heal, I'll come looking for you immediately after". she said and I frowned shaking my head.

"There's no way I'm leaving you alone with those pricks on our tail, you are much more safer with me around and I'll protect you so don't be scared".

I let out a big sigh and smiled." you'll be fine ok".

I said looking around and working over to a tree and plucking its leaves.

mama taught me how to use herbs so I knew the medicinal value of this leaves "These should stop the bleeding and ease the pain but it will hurt like hell when I apply it".

"should I or?".

"just do it".mama said.

I squeezed the leaf liquid on her leg and mama bit her lip and let out a muffled scream that was barely audible.

After I attended to her wounds I wrapped them carefully.

"ok, let's go we spent a lot of time here we need to keep moving".

I helped her up and we continued to work out of the forest.

The forest we lived in was extremely large So in order to come out of this forest we had to trek a long distance to get to the highway I kept looking around hoping no one would come and that's we'd make it out of here life.

How the hell did we get into this mess!.
