Aiden Frost crouched down in front of me and held out a tissue. "I'm sorry. I never thought you'd end up hurt over it." He apologized a second time, and he sounded like he meant every word of it. I was still somewhere else in my head when he steered me into his office and cleaned the cut like he had done it a hundred times before. Aiden had grown up with Weston, and he was a doctor now. The rest of Weston's friends at least made a show of liking me. Aiden never bothered. At every party, the look he sent across the room could have taken skin off. I had circled the question with Weston more than once. "Does Aiden have some kind of problem with me?" He always waved it off like there was nothing there worth chasing. "That's just Aiden. He's the same with everybody, a walking icebox."
