Zach had a hard and cold expression. His eyes darkened with rage and frustration.
"I was looking for those quarterly reports. They weren't on your desk." Zach said, his voice tight.
"I emailed them to you this morning," I replied, stepping out of the elevator. "Didn't you get them?"
Harrison cleared his throat. " We should get back to work. Thanks for lunch, Ashley."
I couldn't speak anything as my heart began to beat so fast. Zach looked stunned and shocked. His eyes had some questions and his expression held a hint of betrayal.
I could feel his gaze boring into me. The tension between us was palpable, a living thing expanding in the hallway.
