Ashley I sat in the office, my fingers tapping gently on the keyboard, but my eyes drifted out the window from time to time. The sunlight outside the window sprinkled on the outline of the city, adding a touch of tranquillity to this busy morning. However, my heart was not calm. Recently, there was a subtle tension in the office, as if everyone was whispering, but stopped abruptly when I approached. I knew the reason- Zach, my ex-husband, was my boss. This fact was like a time bomb. The eyes of my colleagues became complicated, some with sympathy, and some with undisguised curiosity. I tried to ignore these and focus on work, but whenever I walked into the office, the invisible pressure followed me like a shadow. We hadn't talked about anything yet regarding what happened yesterday.
