Ashley The garden terrace of the club shimmered under the evening lights, casting long shadows across the marble tiles. Harrison had feelings for me. He loved me more than a friend.. My chest felt tight like someone had tied a knot around my heart and was slowly pulling it taut. "Ashley? Is everything okay?" Jessica's voice pulled me from my thoughts. I turned to find her watching me with those perceptive eyes that seemed to see right through the walls I'd so carefully constructed. Harrison's sister had a way of looking at you that made you feel both seen and exposed all at once. "I'm fine," I replied automatically, the words tasting false even as they left my lips.
