Chapter 12

976 Words
Brandon and I drove through the night in an eerie silence, the weight of the events still hanging heavily in the air. The glass that had embedded itself in my arm was carefully removed and he skillfully wrapped it up in one of his shirts to stem the bleeding. Leaning my head against the cool window, I finally broke the silence. "Do you think we could make a stop at Jacob's house? There's something I need to get from him," I asked, my voice barely a whisper. Brandon glanced at me, concern etched on his face. "Of course, anything you need," he replied softly, his hand gently grasping mine as he continued to navigate the dark roads. It took what felt like an eternity, but we finally arrived at Jacob's house. I turned to Brandon, politely asking him to wait in the car. Stepping out, I walked up to Jacob's door and knocked, the weariness evident in his disheveled appearance as he opened it. "Miya, what are you doing here? Do you have any idea what time it is?" Jacob asked, his eyes widening at the sight of the blood-soaked shirt wrapped around my arm. "Holy s**t, are you okay? What happened?" "It doesn't matter," I replied, my voice devoid of emotion as I followed him inside. "I need to disappear for a while, and I need an eight ball." His uncertainty was palpable as he hesitated. "That's a lot of coke, Miya." I took a deep breath, the weight of my words heavy on my tongue. "Listen, Jacob, my father just escaped from prison. He hunted me down, cornered me in a hotel room with a gun, and tried to kill me. I just... I need to be numb right now," I revealed, my voice rising slightly in desperation. "I can pay in cash." "Oh my God, I had no idea..." His trailed off, his expression filled with a mix of shock and concern. Raising my hand, I interrupted him. "It's fine. Just please, don't tell anyone about it. I need your help." "Okay, okay," he agreed, his voice laden with worry. He left the room momentarily, returning with a bag of white powder, placing it in my trembling hand as I handed him the cash. I thanked him quietly, the weight of the situation settling in as I returned to the car where Brandon patiently waited. "Are you alright?" He asks, concern lacing his voice as I slide back into the car. "Yes, do you still want to go camping with me? I feel like I just need to escape for a while, at least until they apprehend my father." "Yeah, I just have to inform my parents, they won't mind," he reassures me. I give Ashley a call to see if I can borrow some camping equipment, and we meet her at her house. After loading Brandon's car with tents, sleeping bags, and food, I embrace my best friend tightly, expressing my gratitude. "Keep me updated once everything settles down," Ashley says, her eyes filled with concern as she glances at Brandon. "And take care of her. Don't let anyone harm my best friend," her worry is evident. "I promise," he says earnestly, pulling me closer to him. After bidding Ashley farewell, we make our way to Brandon's secret spot, the very spot where we shared our first night together. It's tucked away, hidden among the trees and mountains, only known to those who seek it. We set up the tent near the water, and once everything is in place, I retrieve a book and lay out a line. "Is this why you went to Jacob's?" Brandon asks, surprise evident in his voice. "Yep. I think after everything I've been through tonight, I deserve a moment of numbness," I reply, snorting two lines in quick succession, feeling a sense of relief as my face begins to tingle. I prepare two more lines and offer the book to Brandon. He hesitates slightly this time, but I give him a playful smile. "Have you ever experienced s*x on coke?" "No, definitely not," he chuckles. "It's an incredible sensation," I say, staring into his eyes intensely as he takes the book and snorts the two lines. I see his face relax completely. We end up indulging in a few more lines together before retreating into the tent, with no intentions of sleep in our minds. As the night unfolds, our bodies intertwine in a passionate dance. The drug-induced euphoria heightens every touch, every kiss, sending electric waves of pleasure through our veins. Our inhibitions fade away, replaced by an insatiable hunger for each other as moved deeper inside me, kissing every inch of my body. The sound of nature surrounds us, the gentle rustling of leaves and the distant call of nocturnal creatures harmonizing with our moans of pleasure. Time seems to stand still as we explore each other's bodies, discovering new depths of desire that we never knew existed. As the first light of dawn breaks through the canopy of trees, our bodies finally succumb to exhaustion. We lie there, entangled in each other's arms, our breaths slowly returning to a steady rhythm. "You were right, it was an exhilarating experience," he murmurs, planting a tender kiss on the crown of my head. The following two days were consumed within the confines of our secret sanctuary. My mother had sent me a text, revealing that they had yet to locate Shane, advising us to stay concealed until they succeeded. Surprisingly, Brandon and I embraced this directive wholeheartedly, as our secluded haven had transformed into a sanctuary. Our days were filled with euphoric swims, passionate lovemaking, and indulging in the allure of cocaine. With our emotions heightened and our bodies attuned to the dizzying effects of the drug, we found ourselves lost within a hazy bliss.
