Chapter 8Melody sat next to Kat, reading her book. She glanced up every so often to make sure her vital signs were normal. She felt a bit nervous Kat hadn’t given her the payment, but then again, Kat didn’t seem bold enough to want to rip someone off. Still, Melody hoped it wouldn’t take too long for them to walk down to grab the funds. They were in hour three, so Melody assumed Kat was somewhere between day one and day two of her session.
In between reading her book, Melody had taken the liberty of snooping around Kat’s room a bit. She noticed various pictures adorned to a bulletin board above her desk. In one of them, Kat had her arm wrapped around the shoulder of a woman with a blond bob. Both of them had golden and maroon “M” stickers on their cheeks, and they made obnoxious duck face
