The brown dog is anxious. Another big dog, this one black, probably a Labrador, was sitting next to his house. The roof was completely gone. The prisoner had probably destroyed it out of boredom. Pieces of it were strewn all over his tiny pen. He had an open sore on his shoulder. The black dog is hurt. There were several pens that were home to little puppies, frolicking and crawling on momma dogs who watched them absently. Maybe someone would buy the puppies. Maybe they had a future.
