Riley’s POV
I was terrified when I saw Armani standing behind the door, his gaze fixed on us. My throat immediately felt sore, tight with fear.
He started walking in slowly.
I clutched the bedsheet, my heart pounding, feeling like I’d just been caught cheating by my boyfriend.
“What’s going on here?” Armani’s voice came out low—cold and bossy.
He looked shocked, confused, angry… I couldn’t tell. His expression was hard to read, but I knew for a fact that he was angry.
Wait—why would he even be angry? Fine, he saw me kissing Lucas. So what? I could kiss whoever I wanted.
“What does it look like?” Lucas scoffed as he stood up, leaving me alone on the bed.
Lucas walked past Armani to the counter, poured himself a drink, took a sip, then gagged.
Armani’s gaze stayed on me. I saw his fist clench—was he clenching it because of me?
“Look, brother, I don’t appreciate you entering my room like this,” Lucas said, pacing around the room.
Armani paid him no attention. His eyes remained on me, making my skin crawl. I looked away, suddenly uncomfortable, and cleared my throat.
“If it were someone else, I would’ve shot them straight in the head,” Lucas said seriously, and I realized he meant every word.
Armani suddenly chuckled. “Then why don’t you try?” he said, c*****g the gun in his hand—then pointing it at me.
My eyes widened. “W-what are you doing?”
“Doing what I should’ve done in the first place,” Armani uttered, making me gulp.
What did he mean by that?
Before I could speak, Lucas stepped beside him. “Have you lost your senses, Armani? Why are you pointing the gun at her?” Lucas yelled.
I shifted slightly, and the gun followed my movement.
“Don’t you see this little b***h was sent to destroy us?” Armani said, his finger sliding to the trigger and pressing it just a little.
No. No, no, no. This couldn’t be how I died—not before finding the monsters who got my parents killed. If these fools hadn’t kidnapped me, I wouldn’t even be here in the first place.
“Are you crazy? Don’t you dare try anything stupid,” Lucas said, trying to grab the gun from Armani, but Armani shoved him away.
“I’m doing us a favor, brother. I’m serious about what I’m saying,” Armani said, pointing the gun back at me. “This girl was sent to destroy us, and it’s best we get rid of her now.”
The way he stared at me was terrifying. Cold. Deadly. It made me wonder how I had even slept with him in the first place.
That night—him moaning my name—had sounded so hot, so sweet. And now here he was, wanting to kill me.
I shook my head slightly. Why was I even thinking about that now?
Wait.
Did Armani find out? Did he realize I wanted to get them under my control so I could escape this place?
“Eyes here.” The sound of the gun clicking made my breath hitch, and I snapped my gaze back to Armani.
“Please don’t kill me. I promise I wasn’t sent here for anything,” I said, trying to explain, but his expression didn’t soften—not even a little.
“Remember, I was brought here against my own will. I didn’t want to be here. Please… don’t kill me,” I kept pleading as Lucas stood up.
He walked to his desk, pulled out a gun, and pointed it at Armani. “Drop your gun,” Lucas yelled.
Armani’s eyes slowly shifted to Lucas, his weapon still aimed at me. “You’re pointing a gun at me for her?” he scoffed.
“This wouldn’t be the first time I have—and it sure won’t be the last if you keep acting crazy,” Lucas snapped.
Armani burst out laughing.
The sound was sudden and maniacal, and it made something sink deep into my chest. None of these brothers were normal. They were all dangerously unhinged.
And if I didn’t get out of this place soon, their madness would be the death of me.
“You’re talking about me acting crazy when you’re even crazier than I am,” Armani said, laughing.
“Get out of my room. Now,” Lucas yelled, his gun raised—his hand not trembling even as he aimed it at his own brother.
“What’s going on here?” I turned to see Theo standing in the doorway.
Neither Lucas nor Armani moved. Armani was still staring at me, his gun aimed in my direction, while Lucas kept his weapon trained on Armani.
“Theo, tell Armani to get out of my room,” Lucas said, and Theo stepped inside.
“You both need to calm down,” Theo said, his eyes flicking between Armani and me.
“Armani, why are you pointing a gun at her?” Theo asked. “And why are you even in Lucas’s room?” His gaze shifted to me, confusion written all over his face.
“I’ll explain after I get rid of this girl,” Armani said flatly.
“What?” Theo yelled.
“I see she’s gotten into you too,” Armani scoffed.
“Don’t you dare try anything to her, or else,” Lucas warned.
“We’ll settle this later,” Armani said. “After I’m done killing her, brother.”
His finger tightened on the trigger.
I squeezed my eyes shut, waiting for the shot that would end me.
A gunshot rang out—but I felt no pain.
I opened my eyes to see Theo gripping Armani’s wrist, his hand raised just in time, stopping him from killing me.
My breath hitched. So he really wanted to kill me.
“Why are you trying to kill her for no reason, huh?” Theo yelled. “You can’t just kill anyone whenever you feel like it!”
“Why do I need your permission?” Armani scoffed. “Let go of my hand.”
Theo released him.
“Well then,” Armani said, smiling at me as he raised the gun again, “shall we continue?”
“Why do you want to kill me?” I asked.
He rolled his eyes. “Don’t be ridiculous.”
“Is it because of what happened between us that night?” I said, and Armani’s eyes widened.
“Is it because I touched you?” I whispered.
Armani blinked rapidly, his jaw tightening.
Lucas slowly lowered his gun.
“What did you just say?” Lucas asked, his gaze flicking between me and Armani—who was now turning red.
