Chapter 4 This time Caspian’s magic trick spilled us into a narrow alleyway. It was dark, the sky as black as pitch, and the snow fell heavily to join the already heaping piles at our feet. In a few short hours, I’d nearly forgotten how cold it had been. I blew into my cupped palms, trying to conjure up some warmth, and for the first time I thought about the coat I’d left behind when we’d magicked out of the club. Caspian wasn’t dressed any warmer than I was, but he didn’t seem bothered by the cold.
