Chapter 5 I was surprised to see the lights on when we arrived at Ganymede. Even stopping to pick up bagels, cream cheese, and hot chocolate for the three of us, it was still half an hour before we opened and I could count the number of times Adam had beaten me in on one hand. He squatted in front of the counter, his back to us, holding a spray bottle and wiping at the glass like a man possessed. Something was off. I pulled out my key and Caspian and I slipped inside, before locking up again. “You’re here early.” Adam didn’t so much as turn around and I glanced at Caspian who, sensing my concern, stepped back a little to give the two of us space. “Everything okay?” “Regional’s coming this morning.” “Alright.” I looked around the shop.
