Christmas with everyone had been a lot of fun and it was nice to have a house full of guests. The unpacking had been just in the nick of time. Emily could hear her mother arguing over dominoes and the tinkling laughter of CJ’s sisters as Thorn and Annar sat gossiping with Hannah and Trisha. It made this moment feel all the more special.
CJ and Vincent were sitting on the couch talking as she walked closer, their final gift hidden behind her back. She had been waiting until it was just the three of them; it was a special moment and one she had a feeling she would want to keep close to her heart for the rest of her days.
