Chapter Thirty-One Thief On television, there’s always a gap in between the triumphant arrest of the bad guy, and the meeting with the lawyer and the D.A. where each tries to intimidate the other. The T.V. producers always skip over that part because they think it’s not important. Actually, it is important, but it’s a long, grueling process where the arrestee gets his/her first taste of jail, and it’s always a messy business. During my time as a cop, I had escorted quite a few perpetrators to the county jail.
