Chapter Twenty-Five Thief Danny waved me toward the back room as soon as I walked in the front door. He didn’t speak as I followed him down into the basement, but I felt sure that something was up. As he opened his office door, I caught sight of an older man standing in the office. Then a sudden sound made me glance on my six, and I saw a burly man in the hall behind me, cutting off my escape. “Inside,” Danny said, motioning me into the private office.
