Chapter 22
The night sky is clear tonight. It’s serene, and quiet. The inn in Kiru Kiru is much quieter than in Eureema. Dmitri and Yeke left to get food, it’s just me in the room. I’m gazing out of the window through a slit between the curtains. There’s a small courtyard with gorgeous red flowers that I’ve been gazing at for most of my night. Suddenly two creatures, who I assume to be water elementals from their blue markings, enter the courtyard. I back a little farther from the window, but I continue to watch. The elementals are holding hands but their fingers are laced together. It feels intimate. They look at one another then they embrace. After a moment, they pull their heads back and their lips meet. My cheeks warm and I turn my head away; I feel like I saw something I wasn’t suppos
