Chapter 17: Luna Elena’s secrets

1358 Words
Two weeks later……. Sofia pov: I was in my grandma's old office, searching through her files, hoping to find something related to her death. We never got closure, and I've always wondered who could have killed her. She was well-loved and respected, a strong warrior and not a weak wolf. It baffled me how she was killed, especially since Mark said it was a rogue that slipped into the pack grounds and attacked her. That didn't add up – how did the rogue get in and target just her? Lost in thought, I heard the doorbell and was surprised to find Tracy and Taffy looking scared and remorseful. Taffy held a fruit basket of red apples. They asked to come in, and I agreed, curious about their intentions. They apologized for treating me badly, blaming Vanessa for manipulating them. I accepted their apology, saying I'd forgiven them, and they told me they'd be leaving the pack once their punishment was done to start fresh at their grandmother's pack. They left, and I was left wondering if my sister will change as well.. After an hour of doing nothing, I decided to head to the pack library to do some research f. As I was getting up to get changed, the front door opened and Josh, Mark, and Damian walked in like they owned the place. I gave them a questioning look, but they ignored it. Mark jumped on the couch, put his feet on the table, and started flipping through the TV channels. Josh headed straight to the fridge to grab a drink. They asked how I was doing and apologized for not hanging out or training me due to the recent attack. Damian looked stressed, but gave me a small smile when he saw me. He picked up a red apple from the counter and started eating it, earning a hard look from me. He chuckled and said, "Relax, Sofia, it's just an apple." I replied, "I'm not offended you took the apple. I'm just waiting to see if it's poisoned." Damian's eyes widened, and he dropped the apple, saying, "Really? You're going to kill me over an apple?" Mark and Josh started laughing real hard asking me if I hated Damian that much, and I explained that Tracy and Tiffany had brought the apple to apologize, and I didn't trust them. Mark teased Damian saying awwn she used you as a testing machine. I said it served him right for barging in and eating something that wasn't his. Everyone burst out laughing as Damian rushed to the kitchen sink, to wash his mouth. Mark said, "It's pointless, dude, you already swallowed it!". Damian walked back, chuckling, and said, "Sofia, I thought we were walking things out and taking things slow. I didn't know you actually have a death wish for me. How could you? I'm your mate, babe." I smiled and said, "Yeah, whatever. Next time, ask before you eat something." We talked for a while, having fun, and Damian continued to push for a date. Just as I was about to respond, the alarm went off, signaling the park was under attack. The guys stood up immediately, and Damian told me to go to the panic room and stay there. I nodded. He kissed my forehead and left with Josh and Mark shifting into their wolves to join the fight. Luna Elena pov: Ugh, why is it taking so long for Sofia and Damian to mate? I'm running out of time. I need to ensure they bond before the next full moon. I can't lose my son, not after all I've done to protect him. My past mistakes still haunt me. I know she’s still angry about what I did, but I'd do anything to keep him safe. When I found out years ago that Sofia was to be his mate, I made sure to gain her trust. If I talk to her, she might agree to let Damian mark her. But my wolf, Maya, disagrees. "It's not a good idea, Elena," she says. "Damian needs to win Sofia's trust." But we don't have time. She's coming for him, and when she does, nobody can stop her. She's powerful, evil, and hungry for revenge. It's a promise she made years ago, and she's coming to collect. "We can't lose Damian," I tell Maya. "We have to do something." Maya suggests a date between Sofia and Damian. Maybe that'll work. Maya, that is not going to work. Damian told us when we spoke to him this morning, that Sofia keeps turning down his date invitations. I've decided to go meet my husband and have him command Sofia to let Damian mark her. I headed to my husband's office, knocked, and he said "Enter." When I entered, I saw "My mate, looking handsome and dashing as ever. Goddess,I love this man so much, and I'll do anything to keep my mate and marriage intact, even if it means sacrificing Sofia. I don't mind, but I cannot lose my mate and son. My husband sensed my worry and stood up, approaching me. "What's wrong, Elena? Are you okay? Something bothering you?" he asked. He led me to a seat, and we sat down. He held my hands, looking at me lovingly and tenderly. "Talk to me, my love. Is Something wrong? Is it about the recent rogue attack?" I said, "Yes, it's about that... and something else." He asked, "What is it?" I said, "It's Damian. I'm worried about him. As the future alpha of this pack, you know he can't handle rejection. It'll drive him mad." He said, "Sofia's not going to reject him. They're just having a misunderstanding because of Damian's past actions. I'm sure Sofia will come around and forgive him, and they'll be okay." I said, "There's no time for that. Use your alpha command on Sofia to let Damian mark her." He let go of me and said, "Elena, how can you even think about such a thing? Use my alpha command to take away a female's rights? I'd never do that. As alpha, I'll never take away a female's right to choose her mate. It's against everything Blackwood Pack believes in." I said, "But other packs do it." He replied, "Blackwood Pack is not like other packs. We don't force females to be with any male. It's their decision, their right. If Sofia decides she can't forgive Damian and rejects him, he'll have to live with it and move on." I said, "You're putting Sofia's rights above our son's life." He said, "It doesn't justify taking away her rights. I love you, Elena, but this is wrong. I won't command Sofia to let Damian mark her. Besides, my alpha command won't work on her." I asked, "Why not? She's an omega..." He said, "There are things you don't know about Sofia's birth. It's not my place to say. My alpha command won't work on her, trust me." I stood up, angry. "Fine. If you're not going to do anything, I'll take matters into my own hands." And with that, I angrily left his office. I stormed out of my husband's office, angry and frustrated, and headed straight to my room. I paced back and forth, trying to figure out what to do. Then, an idea came to mind. Maya quickly objected, "No, don't do that. Don't do something you'll regret." I said, "We don't have any other choice. If she comes to take Damian, we both know what'll happen. We can't lose our son. This is the only way to protect him. Can't you see it?" Maya said, "But..." I interrupted, "I have to do it. I have to go meet our Dark witch and maybe give us a potion that will force Damian and Sofia to mate before the next full moon. It's the only way my son can be safe." Maya said Sofia will hate Damian . If he finds out you did it he will hate you. I said, "I'd rather live with my son's hate than lose him to her. I'll do whatever it takes to protect him."
