Sofia /Albaz pov:
I was at the lake, drinking water, when I felt a presence behind me. I knew immediately it was her. For her to be here could only mean one thing, she had passed the test. Mother had put her through trials, through hard times, because the task ahead of us is far bigger than the mistreatment she received from her family and pack members.
The truth is, we’re from the royal line. She would have received me when she was just ten years old, but because of the test to see if she could handle the task ahead, I wasn't to show myself until she was eighteen. Now that she's here, in the spirit garden of the Moon Goddess, it tells me my human has passed her test.
She stared at me, and I raised my head to look at her. She smiled, but her eyes looked sad and broken, filled with pain from being hurt and broken by those who were supposed to love her. As we stared at each other, the Moon Goddess came closer and she asked, "Who are you? And where am I? Am I dead? Is this the afterlife? Is this heaven or something?"
The Moon Goddess smiled and said, "No, child, you are not dead. You're still very much alive. You are here because I summoned your soul. Seat, my child." Then she sat and said, "The reason you've been suffering isn't because you're weak or useless, or just an omega. It's because I designed it to be so."
Sofia looked at the Moon Goddess, stunned, and asked, "Who are you?" The Moon Goddess replied, "I am the Moon Goddess."
Moon Goddess put Sofia through the test to see if her heart and sadness would turn into bitterness and corrupt her soul. Five hundred years ago, my last human allowed her pain, disappointment, and betrayal to consume her, making her a bitter soul and almost corrupting me, her wolf. The Moon Goddess made sure Sofia wouldn't be corrupted by the evil done to her. Even in the face of death, she still hoped for the best for her family and pack. She always had good wishes and a good heart for everyone.
Moon Goddess saw that Sofia’s heart would never be corrupted. the anger and pain she felt never turned into hate or resentment, she didn’t let it consume her. That's how I know she has passed as my human.
The Moon Goddess said to her, You will receive your wolf once you wake up. A very powerful and special wolf, I designed it like that because you were born for great things, Sofia. You're not just an ordinary wolf. You're from a strong bloodline, and soon you'll know the truth behind your birth. I want you not to give up. Don't let those hurts consume you. Take control of the pain and anger you feel, and don't let that anger consume you."
Sofia looked at the Moon Goddess and asked, "Will I really get a strong wolf? Or a weak wolf, just like me?" The Moon Goddess said, "You are not weak, Sofia, and you will certainly not be getting a weak wolf. You are a direct descendant, and you will be getting a wolf as beautiful and powerful as you are."
Then the Moon Goddess called for me, "Albaz, come." I walked towards them and sat close to the Moon Goddess, who petted my head. The Moon Goddess introduced me, "Sofia meet Albaz your wolf." Sofia looked at me, surprised, "I'm getting a white wolf? White wolves are known to be powerful and always come with great power. Do I deserve her?" The Moon Goddess said, "You deserve her, more than anyone."
Sofia looked at the Moon Goddess, "I don't feel ready to go back. I don't know what's waiting for me. It might be something worse. I feel tired." The Moon Goddess said, "You don't need to worry. Albaz can go back in your place, and once you're ready to wake up, she will give you back full control."
My human petted my head and placed her forehead on mine. She breathed a sigh of relief, "It's nice to meet you, Albaz. I can't believe I'm finally going to have a beautiful wolf just like you." I sent her a link, "It's nice to meet you too, Sofia Don't worry, I'm not going to let anybody hurt us again."
The Moon Goddess petted me and said, "It's time for you, Albaz, to merge with Sofia and be one with her. You need to go and take full control of her body and heal it.
The Moon Goddess told Sofia, "You are going to have a mate, a very powerful mate who is going to love and support you. Your mating process is not going to be easy. There are going to be complications, temptations, and trials, but it's left for you to trust the mate bond. I do not make mistakes in my pairing.
Sofia looked at the Moon Goddess and asked, "Who exactly is going to be my mate? Is he an alpha?" The Moon Goddess looked at her and said, "Yes, the mate is going to be an alpha.
Sofia asked, "Is my mate from another pack? Is he an alpha from another pack?" The Moon Goddess said, "When you wake up you will find out. But I want you to know one thing: give him a chance before you reject him. Don't just reject him because of what has happened. Give him a chance, get to know him, get to hear him out. Don't jump into rejection. Let the bond grow, let the bond lead."
The Moon Goddess looked at me, Albaz, "You are going to meet your mate, and you are going to talk things out with your mate. You are not going to allow the past mistake to affect the present. You and Sofia are to give your mate a chance." I nodded my head.
I closed my eyes, and when I opened them, I was in the hospital. I had healed and taken full control of my human's body until she is ready to wake up. I sat up, looked around, and knew I needed to go to the woods to prepare for my first shift. But I didn't want anyone to see me going out, so I used my invisibility power and walked out of the park hospital. and made sure to be careful so nobody bumped into me. I walked straight to Sofia’s favorite lake, sat down, closed my eyes, and went into her memory.
I saw everything that had happened, how we lost our grandma, how the pack had treated her. I shed tears because my human had been through so much. I sat there, closed my eyes, and remembered my past life, how my former mates betrayed us. I hoped such wouldn't repeat itself again and chose to trust the Moon Goddess's because the Moon Goddess never makes mistakes.
I sat at the lake for a few minutes, and I felt presence at my back. I knew instantly it was my mate and his friends. I didn’t turn, just kept looking ahead. After a few minutes of them staring, I knew Storm must have noticed it was me who’s in control. I couldn’t help but smile. I got mated to Storm again—after what he did to me four hundred years ago, can I actually stand being mated to him again? I still choose to trust the Moon Goddess’s.
I turned to them and spoke, “You can approach, mate, but I want to talk to Storm and not you.” After saying that, Storm took full control and walked over to me, looking straight into my eyes. In that second, I knew he realized who I was. I said, “Albaz, still staring at me, how long has it been? Three hundred, four hundred years?” I looked him dead in the eyes, my eyes cold, past pain and anger, everything that happened four hundred years ago surfaced.
I asked him in our native tongue, Xathra vek’thal storm, yx’la shathra do’nal, k’rathuul va’rin thul’maer. (Why do you always disappoint me, Storm? You did that four hundred years ago and you’re doing it again with your human.)
