CHAPTER FIVE

Her eyes blinked,open and close,close,open,open and very wide. She jerked up at once but she gave a loud cry and fell back to sleep. She turned to stare at me wide eyed and I was lost in her blue hazel eyes,it was so beautiful.

She winced in pain as she struggled to get up,so I rushed to assist her.

"Aaargh! How did I get here?" She scanned her eyes around.

"I don't know but you passed out the moment you reached here,What happened?" I asked and scanned her body to check if there's any traces of bruises. She opened her mouth to say something but closed it back.

She seemed hurt,but she wiped it off with a smile.

"Ah! nothing happened,I just ran away from him"

"What? Are you crazy! Why? What did that motherfúçkér do"

"Do I look like a Google app with all these endless questions?" She stares at me weirdly and I maintain my cool.

"I just wanted to take a stroll from the park to the house, that's all but I missed my way!" I stare at her in shock.

"Good heavens!! What are you? A machine,a robot? How can you leave the park for a 3 hour stroll? You almost died when you reached here! If not for Dax with his medical knowledge who did all he could to revive you,that was so risky you crazy girl! What If something bad happened to you? What if you were kidnapped?"

"You're shouting!! My ears are on fire"

"Why didn't you join him home,what did he do?

"I just didn't want to ask so many questions,why are you even worried?!!" She shouted back and I swallowed hard.

But why am I so worried? I barely knew this crazy girl and I'm acting as if she's my sister.

I stood up from where I was sitting and moved to a farther place.

I could have gone home,taken dinner and probably been on bed working with my laptop but here am I with this girl trying to make sure she's fine, someone who isn't concerned for herself.

My mum had called earlier to inquire about my absence at home but I lied to her that I'm at Dax's place,I might probably spend the night. My friends left me and told me to enjoy the night when she wakes...those i***t's and here I am with this one chewing her lips and looking at me with her big eyes.

I turned my back to avoid her eyes,one could get hypnotized in them.

"Why are you not talking again?" She asked and I ignored.

"Why standing that far?"

"Why does my back ache so much?

Why didn't you go home". She kept ranting while I stared outside looking at nothing.

"Why are your muscles so fat but your ass so flat? Why are you not answering me,do I disgust you?" She bursted out crying and I shook my head in confusion.

"What's your problem? The other minute you wanted me to keep quiet and now you want me to start talking"

"I said you shouldn't shout!"

"You never said that!!" She hissed and stood up.

"I'll be going home, you're not a nice person at all,you both are the same" she yelled and huffed in blankness.

"You're going where?"

"Home??"

"By past 1 o'clock??"

"Sweet Jesus!!" She screamed in surprise and I held her mouth.

"Shh!! It's late already, don't make noise"

"Aunt Debbie will be so worried" she said with so much worry that tears almost laced her beautiful eyes.

"You can't leave now, it's dangerous. You can go when it's dawn and explain your madness to her"

"Joy and Jay will be so disturbed,dear stupid me!!!"

Aunt Debbie,Joy and Jay must be really special to her,her countenance changed and I really hated that.

I'm not used to seeing this sad version of her, I'm already used to the happy crazy side of hers.

The place was silent for some minutes and I couldn't bear it again.

"Do you want to go home?" We both asked each other at once and bursted out laughing.

"I'd love to but it's late," I told her.

"Then we'd spend the night here on these cold floor tiles" she whines and yawns so wide.

"Don't worry, there's a guest room here,you can go there and sleep" I told her and her eyes gleamed in happiness.

"Really,that's so cool,common let's go"she grabbed my hands

"Where to go?"

"The room of course,where will you be sleeping"

"Oh! Don't worry about me,I can manage the office couch" I told her and she left my hands.

"Oh! Ok then,I will sleep on the floor."

"Why?"

"Cause you'll sleep on the couch"

"You can't sleep on the floor, Sanctify!" I called out her name.

"You can't sleep on one couch Rock!" Damn!! The way she calls me that made me smile within, she's already using that name for me. I sighed in frustration and stared at her as she talked slowly and calmly.

"You helped me,I can't let you sleep on the couch, I'll rather sleep on the floor"

"Fine, no way! Look we'll both sleep on the bed with a big demarcation in the middle" she smiled.

"It's okay, but I can cross my legs on your body,Jay let's me touch him and allows me cross my legs on his body"

"I'm not Jay!!!"

I don't know but I get used off anytime she mentions Jay,Jay this.....Jay that.

We reached the room and I divided the king sized bed with the pillow and blanket and we slept in peace only to wake up the next morning with two heavy legs on my waist and her mouth chewing my shirt.

Santify's Pov.

I couldn't go home that morning and abandon my duty,I was so restless that aunty Debbie was worried Last night.

I still can't try to explain what happened yesterday between Mr. Lucifer and I. I don't know why it hurts. The irking look in his eyes when he said those words hurt me so bad.

Why would someone have such a beautiful face with a cold heart?

I leaned for the sixth time as I dragged my weak self to attend to customers.

Mr Rock already left,I guess.

I reached the first floor and what welcomed me was shocking.

Jay was holding Rock's neck and screaming to provide for me.

I rushed down to them and stopped Jay from choking him.

"Stop it Jay,I'm fine"

"What the héll Sanctify,you made us worried!! Aunt Debbie wanted to come last night but we stopped her. You don't have a cell phone,we could have called" Jay controlled himself from screaming.

He was worried,I could tell from how frustrating that was.

"I'm so sorry Jay something happened"

"What?"

"Can I tell you later?" he stared at Rock and looked back at me.

"Sure" he said and I moved over to hug him. I've missed him and I was really guilty for making him worried about me.

"I will come over after work today,I promise"

"You wouldn't even dare repeat yesterday's drama, I'll spank you"Rock gasped at the both of us.

"I'm hungry Jay"

"Let me get you something to eat,I'll be right back" I smiled at him but my smile faded as soon as I saw the last person I was expecting to see.....Kyle!!

What the heck is he even doing here?

We both stared at each other but I followed Jay immediately, I'm not going to have any conversation with a heartless man.

"Wow!! So you now have a competitor" Helena shrieked in surprise.

"No way!! She's just some shabby looking girl which my brother employed"

"That same shabby girl went out with the love of your life, something you've tried so hard to even gain his attention for years!!"

"Don't rub it on my face!!! She can ever have a thing to do with Kyle, stop it Helen" Laurel screamed at her best friend,she was getting agitated at her words.

She had found out yesterday from her brother that the local girl she met at the company went out with Kyle. She couldn't believe it, infact she was raged and confused.

"Then why are you getting all worked up and angry?"

"Just leave me Helena"

"See girl,I will be plain with you. Kyle is a stone to look at any girl's way talkless of going out!! If that ugly shabby girl was able to go out with Kyle only on their First meeting,then you need to do something about it,that girl is special"

"What do I do? Nothing!!! Wait,I just don't want to jump into any conclusions yet, besides my brother likes that mere looking at him. I'm not doing anything right now,Kyle would never settle for a classless bítçh like her" Laurel said and bit her fingers.

She's not sure of what she said but she couldn't bear the thought of Kyle seeing any other person except her. He came to work today and he was all restless and looking guilty as if he did something bad.

Everyone was really surprised at his calm behaviour today until he dashed out from his office and went to God's nowhere.

She won't accept defeat, not when she's this close to getting Kyle,some ugly classless girl shouldn't move her at all, no way!!! She's way above her league to be thinking of something like that.

I reached home but Mum was looking so worried and restless. I hugged her and asked what the issue was but she wouldn't tell me,as usual .

"It's nothing serious sweetheart"

"But you would tell Oliver right?"

"No..not at all"

"You don't tell me things especially when it has to do with my brother,am I a kid?

You think I don't know?

The nightmares?

The secrets?"

"You know nothing Laurel!! Keep quiet"

"I'm not,Oliver is also my brother and I deserve to now any damn thing concerning him"

"You're too young to understand,go to you room"

"I know the secrets Mum,even if you don't tell me..."

"She's right Mum"Oliver came back home and replied.

"Oliver!! She's not supposed to know"

"She's my sister Mum,I can't die in silence"

"Oh gosh!!"

"The nightmares are getting worse now! I see myself changing in the night!!!"
