Nightmares

CHAPTER ONE

"Oliver, are you drunk?" Mrs Berby followed him to his office.

"I'm not"

"Then why are we hiring such masquerade in Human form"

"Gosh, Aunty you're not funny."

"I'm serious Oliver,we need a decent and experienced lady for the position of a sales clerk and she's far from possessing those qualities!"

"You can never tell, she's funny and lively besides that,I need a payback"he winked at her.

"She's crazy! She called me a mad person Oliver,who knows how many customers she will call that!"

"Are you mad?" Oliver asked and she glared sharply at him.

"You see,you're not mad" He winked at her and she shook her head in amusement.

"You're never serious, anyway I know it's just temporary. Here's her file"

He collected it and took a glance at it before smiling at it.

"Oliver??"

"Huh"

"The nightmares,are you still having them?"

"Yeah Aunty Berby,more worse this time around"

"Hey don't even think about it,you can come over to the house and talk about it,for now I've got clients to attend ". She said and walked out with her shoes making the heely sounds on the clear almond tiles.

No matter how hard I try to forget the scene of the nightmares,it keeps popping up in my head every now and then,sending chills to my body.

Aunt Berby is the only one who listens to them and assures me that we'll definitely find the meaning to that cause it's a really weird and repeated dream.

Mum won't even listen and end up saying it's just a bad dream. I hissed in frustration as I stared back at the file before me.

Sanctify munched on her food hungrily and angrily while her aunt stared at her in amusement. She cursed the company, managers,the receptionist,interviewer and of course...Mr.Hell.

"Who's Mr. Hell?" Aunt Debbie curiously asked.

"I don't know! He made me late this morning for my interview when he splashed water on me with his car. I hit him with my canvas and now I don't have a white one anymore."

"Sanctify!! that's the fifth canvas I bought for you,what's wrong with you?"aunt Debbie yelled.

"But he caused it!!"

"Must you hit him with your canvas,why will you hit a stranger over a minor mistake?"

"Oh! You're defending him right? I can't believe you right now. I just lost my dream job and you're defending Mr.Hell" she kicked her legs in the air and started crying.

"A job you never got,will you finish up your food?"

"Ah!! Aunty something is vibrating under my ass" she jumped up at the vibration of the phone she was sitting on.

"Did you sit on my phone?" Her aunt yelled and asked.

"No,I sat on it....sorry I didn't notice" she ran away with her plate of food into her room while her aunt shook head and answered the call.

Sanctify was her sister's only child when she died of Leukemia,cancer of the blood.

Her husband had fled when he heard of the sickness and she was pregnant.

Sanctify's mum was pregnant and she was so scared that her baby would be infected with the deadly disease. She went into depression and cursed her existence. She got cancer from her late father who also died of the disease. Her mum happens to be alive and hearty but she rejected Sanctify as her granddaughter.

Debbie took her in as her own.

She had two kids,two lovely boys that were snatched away by her husband.He took them to God's nowhere for fear of being infected by the disease but Aunt Debbie and Sanctify happened to be medically free from the cancer.

Sanctify knew the circumstances surrounding her birth and the hatred from her grandma.

She didn't care,life was already hard but she vowed to make life meaningful for herself. Her mum didn't get to enjoy the realities and beautiful things life had to offer but she will do so till her very last breath.

She had three best friends,Aunt Debbie,Joy and Jay.

Joy and Jay were twins who lived next door close to them.They adored her personalities and flaws, they've tried all their possible best for Sanctify to behave well mannered in public but it's all to no avail. No matter the scoldings and teaching,She wasn't ready to appear decent to please anybody.

The only time Sanctify ever dresses decent is when Jay or Joy is around.

Jay adored and took care of Sanctify,the same way he would take care of his sister. Despite the fact that people see her as some weirdo or some girl with a little touch of psycho,he saw her as the most amusing person he has ever met.

His family were initially against him hanging around with her but when they saw how carefree and caring she was

,they changed their mind set about her and she became part of their family.

She would go to their house anytime she likes to visit the twins, preadventure she helps the family with some chores wholeheartedly.

To Jay,Sanctify was this pretty crazy girl that has an ice heart which needs to be melted with love and care. He felt she was hiding something,he couldn't decipher how a girl as pretty as her would dress crazily and shut down anything that has to do with guys.

yeah!! She might be crazy but she's very careful when it comes to guys and she hasn't dated anyone before.

He kind of considered himself lucky and fortunate cause he happens to be the only one she could trust,talk to and play childishly around him.

Sanctify would always argue that clothes should be worn at the same time or it will be a waste.

She could combine both skirt and trousers,polo and T-shirt and call it Santy fashions.

She adores Stone's fashion house with the luxurious and the classiest fashion outfit in the whole of L.A and she wished to work there.

She's done with her higher institution with a good backup certificate but no company is willing to hire her.This fashion house is her only hope and she knows it's worthless.

Among all features, she's very beautiful.A natural one that whatever madness she displays doesn't hide her cute angelic face with blue hazel eyes.

Aunt Debbie yelled in the sitting room and Sanctify rushed out with a mopping stock,high in the air.

"Where's it! Where is it!! Tell me let me kill the motherfúcker" Sanctify yelled back and Aunt Debbie ran out of the house but she followed her with the mop.

"Come back Aunt,why are you running? I thought you were being attacked!"

"Are you crazy? You scared the s**t out of me when I saw you holding that mop. Must you be silly at all times?

"I was trying to defend aunt Debbie"

"You're crazy!! Stone's fashion house just called now that you're hired and to resume work the next day" aunt Debbie said and the mopped dropped from her hands.

"FOR REAL!!" She screamed.

"I don't think so,I think there's a mix up somewhere. Let me call back and tell them it's a mistake"

"Aunt Debbie don't you dare!!!" She jumped up and dragged the phone with her aunt.

"Give me back my phone!" Aunt Debbie yelled but Sanctify ran around the house in happiness and dialed Jay's number to tell him the good news.

"You better make sure you get a new phone,I don't share phones!" She yelled but Sanctify jumped happily into her room.

She landed softly on the bed and dialed Jay's number anxiously,the moment he picked the call she screamed her lungs out in excitement.

"Hey!! Do you want to burst my eardrums?"

"Oh my God!! guess what?"

"what? Aunt Debbie bought a new canvas for you?"

"Eilish!! Jay,you're so poor at guessing! Give the phone to Joy."

"I'm not."

"Give the phone to her, you dummy!"

"You're breaking my heart,stop it and tell me the good news."

She rolled her eyes at his statement and spewed the news to him.

"I got a new job bbb!!!"

"Wow!! That's a sweet lie."

"I'm serious."

"But the last time you applied for any job was at Falez restaurant,100 miles from here...."

"Jeez! shut up. I got a job in Stone's fashion house"

What do you mean by thàt?" Mrs Stone asked the old woman who had stopped her by the road.

She had entered a grocery shop to get some items when this woman made a statement.

"Your son will soon find the one!"

"What do you mean by that?"Mrs Stone asked.

"Your son's nightmare is close to reality,he would soon find the one to kill him"

"Can you please get the fvçk out of my sight and stop scaring the s**t out of me" The Old woman laughed out wickedly.

"He would soon find the one to kill him,That must not happen!! That must not happen!!!!

Find the one...Kill her,kill the one!!" She shouted as Mrs Stone jerked up and woke up from the bed.
