Lyla's POV: By eleven, Marissa was fast asleep in Declan’s room. I knew because she had texted me asking for an extra blanket, and I had quietly brought one up. The moment I climbed under my lavender comforter, I let out a long, tired sigh. Finally, some peace. I reached for my phone on the nightstand. Three unread messages from Talia waited for me. TALIA: Is he still alive? TALIA: Are YOU still alive? TALIA: If you don’t respond in five minutes I’m calling campus security, I swear.
